Matt Hagan Racing is proud to debut the Monte Carlo SS Nitro Funny Car that Matt Hagan will pilot in the IHRA Knoll Gas Motorsports Nitro Jam series this season.

"We're really looking forward to the IHRA Nitro series this year," said Matt Hagan. "As this sport continues to grow it's going to need a lot of young teams with marketing appeal to increase the fan base, which will in turn increase sponsorship opportunities. I think we have a lot to contribute to the sport as we grow our program."

"We've assembled a veteran team of Funny Car crew members, and I'm very excited as a rookie Nitro driver to have such a great team behind me," said Hagan.

Matt Hagan Racing will continue to fly TORCO colors in 2008.

"Although we've been with TORCO for a relatively short time, they have been great to us," explained Matt. "We were very sorry to hear about Evan's worsening health problems but we hope that he is on the road to recovery."

"Evan and TORCO have been such a huge part of drag racing at all levels that he will definitely be missed this year," explained Hagan. "We've had our car designed for months now with TORCO's approval and we've been putting our program together as a TORCO team so we're not going to change any of that."

Hagan went on to say "TORCO has relationships with our other businesses, including our automotive group, our speedway and dragway in Radford, and our graphics and marketing departments so we're going to continue as planned."

"Right now we're just eager to start testing," said Hagan. The crew expects to be out on the strip very soon, possibly as early as this week.
