BECKMAN DRIVING VALVOLINE/MTS FC IN 2008

Jack Beckman returns to the Don Schumacher Racing team for his second full season in the 2008 NHRA POWERade Drag Racing Series, driving the Dodge Charger R/T Funny Car sponsored by Valvoline and Mail Terminal Services.

A DSR major associate sponsor in 2007, Valvoline comes on board for the first time as a primary backer of the car that holds the national top speed record of 333.66 mph. Mail Terminal Services, a primary sponsor in 2007, returns for the second straight season with DSR, this time as a major associate sponsor. Valvoline will also be an associate sponsor on all the DSR team vehicles.

"By stepping up our support of Don Schumacher Racing and Jack Beckman, Valvoline rounds out its NHRA program in a big way," said Rob Stravitz, vice president for global brands for Valvoline. "Valvoline now has a bigger presence with a stellar Funny Car team and driver and we will continue to push the technology envelope through our technical partnership with DSR."

Mail Terminal Services' president and CEO Rodger Comstock, along with wife Karen, will continue the popular "Mail from Home" program throughout the 2008 season. This program allows fans and competitors an opportunity to sign unique cards in the DSR hospitality area and at a kiosk within the U.S. Army Racing Zone at NHRA national events, with messages to the U.S. troops overseas, which are then distributed free to war-zone camps by MTS. The number of postcards distributed by MTS to war-zone troops reached the 90,000 mark by the end of 2007. "The success of the 2007 Mail from Home program," said Comstock, "is the result of the dedication of the 1100 plus employees of Mail Terminal Services in supporting our partners at DHL Global Mail, the United States Postal Service and all of their customers at home and overseas."

"I tell you what I think is so cool," said Beckman, who finished fifth in the 2007 Funny Car class after winning two national events in three final rounds and the prestigious Skoal Showdown, "is that I'm able to race for companies I personally and overwhelmingly support. With MTS what we've been able to do for the troops with the Mail from Home program is outstanding and we still get thanks and emails from them.

"And I've been a Valvoline guy since my dad used Valvoline products when I was a kid. I have used Valvoline in my Sportsman car. In fact, when I go out and bracket race now, I'm still a Valvoline guy. So, to be able to promote something that I've been a longtime customer of and believe strongly in is awesome.

"I think I'm more excited now that I've got one full year under my belt," continued Beckman, a California native who lives in North Hills, Calif., with wife Jenna and son Jason Russell, who'll be one year old in March. "I've been to every race track with the exception of the 24th race, which will be new for everybody. And I feel like out of the gate this year everybody will know that the Valvoline/MTS car is contending for the championship."

"We are proud to expand our relationship with Valvoline this season to include a primary sponsorship of the Dodge Charger that Jack will race," said team owner Schumacher. "All the DSR crew chiefs regard Valvoline products very highly and we use them in every one of our vehicles.

"Having Mail Terminal Services return as a major associate sponsor is also exciting for everyone at DSR. We expect an even more successful season for Jack than he had last year," added Schumacher. "We predict the Mail from Home program originated by Rodger and Karen Comstock will reach more fans and racers wishing to support our troops overseas as MTS and DSR continue to develop the program."
