David Powers Motorsports announced today that it has partnered with the
Golden Nugget Hotel & Casino for the National Hot Rod Association’s
(NHRA) SummitRacing.com Nationals in Las Vegas, April 10-13.
Top Fuel drivers Hot Rod Fuller and Antron Brown and the DPM team will call the Golden Nugget home during the ninth annual competition held at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway.
The AAA Four-Diamond hotel in downtown Las Vegas will offer NHRA fans a special nightly rate of $79 plus tax April 10 and 13, and $139 plus tax April 11 and 12. Reservations may be made by calling 800-634-3454 and asking for the NHRA Fan Rate. Fuller, the Las Vegas hometown hero, and Brown will meet with fans and sign autographs at the Golden Nugget from 2-4 p.m. Wednesday, April 9. The Caterpillar and Matco Tools Top Fuel dragsters will be on display at the Golden Nugget. Located just minutes from the speedway, the Golden Nugget Hotel & Casino also offers direct access to downtown Las Vegas and the renowned Fremont Street Experience. The property has received the AAA Four Diamond Award consecutively since 1977, and recently completed a $170-million property-wide renovation and expansion project, that began in 2005.
“When I heard we partnered with the Golden Nugget, the first thing I thought was awesome,” Fuller said. “The (Golden) Nugget is the face of downtown Las Vegas. I’m really excited to stay there during the (Las) Vegas race. The dining is great and it has the hottest pool in the city. It’s close to the track and will be a great place for NHRA fans to stay when they’re in Las Vegas.”
“This is very cool,” Brown added. “It’s a great hotel and I can tell you one thing, I know we’ll eat well with all the great restaurants at the Golden Nugget. I’m looking forward to flying the Golden Nugget logo on the Matco Tools dragster and I just hope they hook a brother up when I go to (Las) Vegas for a little r & r after the season.”
