DAVID POWERS MOTORSPORTS ANNOUNCES PARTNERSHIP WITH ILOCATE GPS

Sekurus Inc. and its iLocate GPS brand were named an associate partner of David Powers Motorsports, team owner David Powers announced today. The iLocate GPS logo will be located on the Matco Tools dragster driven by Antron Brown beginning at the O’Reilly Spring Nationals at Houston Raceway Park.

The iLocate/DPM partnership provides an opportunity for Sekurus representatives to invite key accounts in race markets to the NHRA events for hospitality entertainment at the team’s Iron Eagle Club hospitality area, as well as the opportunity for iLocate representatives to speak with other race team sponsors about business-to-business networking in the pit area. In addition to the networking opportunities for iLocate products at the track, Sekurus representatives also will make a nationwide push with iLocate products for promotions with the David Powers Motorsports race team, including show car and driver appearances at car dealerships, trade shows, and conventions throughout the U.S.

In 2007, iLocate National Sales Manager Michael Southerland connected with former NHRA Funny Car driver Jim Epler to explore possibilities for Sekurus Inc. They developed the sponsorship model that attracted Sekurus and its iLocate GPS brand to become a first-time NHRA sponsor. Epler, the first Funny Car driver to exceed the 300-mph barrier, will work with Southerland and focus on national motorsports accounts.

“Having worked with other sponsors in the NHRA previously, I know how productive it can be to bring our clients out to the races,” Southerland said.  “We also know that the NHRA is made up of a great group of sponsors that work well to develop win-win business opportunities for each other.”

iLocate GPS is an asset management system that is used on commercial fleet vehicles as well as private individual cars, trucks, and vans for residential users including motorcycle applications. Benefits of the product range from anti-theft security to vehicle location tracking, fuel mileage management, and vehicle maintenance notification. The product allows commercial accounts to know where their delivery or job site equipment is at all times throughout the day, and the private application provides parents the opportunity to know where their child’s car is located.

“iLocate is an amazing device,” Brown said. “Whether I put it on my personal car or my Suzuki motorcycle, I know where my vehicles are at all times and I’ll know if they are ever tampered with. It’s also great for all of those parents out there who want to know where their teenage drivers are at before curfew. It’s also great for racers who want to make sure their race car trailer stays where they put it each night in the pit area, home or race shop.”
