Whit Bazemore loves his fans, but with all due respect to them, he’s
content spending the time with his family and watching the drags from
his home in Eugene, Oregon. This is why Bazemore points out there’s no
truth to a rumor circulating which suggests he will be a teammate in
the near future to Tim Wilkerson.”
“No truth to that one,” Bazemore said.

A second rumor squashed; he didn’t drive for Gary Scelzi last weekend in testing, either.
Bazemore said the only team owner he’s had conversations with since leaving has been former boss Don Schumacher, and even then those chats were more on a personal level than professional.
“We’ve talked but nothing serious about me driving,” Bazemore said. “He’s very big on us staying in touch and asking how the family is doing. We talked a few weeks ago and I let him know I may want to test sometime on Mondays. He told me to call him. I haven’t made that call yet.
“I haven’t pursued anything since last fall and I haven’t made one single call to drive anything. I’m taking the time off and enjoying it. I am taking this time to really figure whether or not I do want to drive again. I’m at a point in my life, if an opportunity comes along I might think about it but I’m not out there beating down the bushes.”
Bazemore is racing this weekend in the Toyota Pro Celebrity Race in Long Beach, California, but as for the drags, don’t expect a return until the right offer comes along.
