The ADRL Summer Drags hosted by Knoll Gas Motorsports Park in Martin, Michigan, has been officially postponed. The event will be completed at the next event in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

The failure to get the event completed was not due to a lack of effort. After a nasty storm washed out Saturday's competition just after the first round, Sunday was intended to be a hot-lap affair to complete eliminations.

If only the circumstances would have been that easy for Kenny Nowling and his ADRL team.

Saturday's lightning storm knocked out the Christmas tree forcing the ADRL to adopt an old version of flag-starting. The money and points were equally split since competition had been eliminated down to the quarter-finals.

In the midst of starting the makeshift eliminations, a freak starting line incident sent Mitchell Scruggs, father of Pro Extreme racer Jason Scruggs to the hospital.  Scruggs was standing in the area behind the burnout box, when debris was pitched from an Extreme 10.5 competitor's burnout and impacted Mitchell in the chest. He was listed in stable condition.

Eliminations were put on hold until the embulance returned from transport to the local hospital.

The final rounds had been established and teams were called to the lanes when another shopper of a thunderstorm rolled through Martin, Michigan delivering a nasty combination of rain and lightning.
