In a prepared statement issued to the media this morning, Mac Tools announced they are changing their sports marketing program by ending their primary sponsorship on the Top Fuel dragster driven by Doug Kalitta at Kalitta Motorsports.
Mac Tools will retain their title sponsorship of the Mac Tools U.S. Nationals and numerous contingency programs within NHRA, NASCAR and other partners.
"We sincerely thank Connie Kalitta and the Kalitta Motorsports Team for everything they have done for Mac Tools and the professional way they have represented our brand over the last eight years,” said Tony Merritt, Mac Tools Motorsports Manager.
Kalitta Motorsports had confirmed the lack of primary sponsorship had relegated the team to a ten-race schedule, but it's unknown at this time how this latest move will affect 2009's plans.
