MARGOLIS JOINS iTEAM SPORTS

Organization provides capital to racing teams, increases fan participation and loyalty, and supports charitable groups

Veteran motorsports journalist Bob Margolis was named national development director for the motorsports division of iTeam Sports.  The non-profit organization provides capital to qualified racing teams and other sports by giving fans actual, affordable ownership and participation in their favorite teams.  iTeam Sports also provides financial support to local and national charitable organizations through the purchase of team shares and all share dividends.

Margolis most recently served as a NASCAR reporter and columnist for Yahoo! Sports, where he traveled the country covering races, drivers, owners and the entire motorsports scene for the past four years.  He also produced and appeared on a weekly segment called the “Inside Track” for the nationally syndicated television show, “Motorsports Weekly,” later expanding his role as both a producer and on-air talent for MS2 Productions, the show's producer. Prior to his television work, Margolis was the editor-in-chief for GoRacing.com, the Internet’s first comprehensive motorsports news site.  While living in Detroit, he produced and hosted the weekly radio show, “The Motorsports Insider,” and later produced and co-hosted the weekly radio show, “The Inside Lane.”

Beyond his journalistic endeavors, in the mid-1990’s Margolis founded and operated a motorsports marketing and promotions company, working with several clients including the former Championship Auto Racing Teams (CART).

A lifelong follower of motorsports, Margolis will continue to serve as vice president of communications for the American Drag Racing League (ADRL) – the country’s premier eighth-mile drag racing series.
