BONINFANTE'S U.S. MALE NITRO FUNNY CAR WITHDRAWS ENTRY FOR MARCH MEET

In a strange turn of events the planned West coast debut of "Nitro Nick" Boninfante's U.S. Male nitro Funny Car at the March Meet with Ron Capps driving has hit a wall.

The March Meet was supposed to have been a fun "off" weekend for the driver of the NAPA Auto Parts Charger on the NHRA Full Throttle series but his Schumacher Racing team recently scheduled testing the same weekend at Palm Beach Int'l Raceway in Florida.  Regretfully Capps must be in Florida driving his full time ride and he's withdrawn his entry. Boninfante then had to make the hard decision what to do and after looking at a few options he decided not to send the car to California.

"This was a tough decision for me to make," Boninfante said from his suburban Philadelphia clutch factory.  "I was really looking forward to having Capps drive the U.S. Male at the March Meet.  I could have had our regular driver Paul Lee drive but the sponsorship money Capps was bringing along with him had a lot to do with the decision," Boninfante added.  "Without that money it wasn"t economically feasible to race this event."

"Paul Lee will hop back in the seat for the match races we have scheduled on the east coast and we'll probably shoot for the California Hot Rod Reunion in the fall"
