ADRL INTRODUCES UPDATED REGISTRATION PROCESS IN 2009

National Guard ADRL officials announced today a new and streamlined registration process for all competitors and crew members for the 2009 season beginning at the Safety-Kleen Dragpalooza V at Houston Raceway Park.

A dramatic increase in the number of participants at National Guard ADRL tour events along with more stringent insurance regulations has forced ADRL officials to make changes to the registration process at all national events.

Gone is the old "hard card" system and its lengthy application procedure and long lines. As an identification system, it unfortunately allowed for fraudulent use by some individuals, allowing those who should not have been in restricted areas during race weekends illegal access to those areas of the race track. Due to new insurance regulations, all competitors and crewmembers will be required to sign a waiver at every national event in 2009. After signing the waiver, each competitor and crewmember will be issued a uniquely colored and individually numbered wristband, to be worn throughout the event. This replaces a hard card and signifies that the wearer has restricted area access privileges during the weekend. These wristbands are NOT transferable under any circumstances. Any competitor or crewmember found abusing their restricted area privilege will be subject to a $5000 fine to be levied against the offender's team and the violator will face a permanent revocation of restricted area access at all National Guard ADRL tour events for abusing this privilege.

As in the past, ADRL officials will park race teams from 2 to 8 p.m. on Thursday at each national event. For teams that do not arrive during those hours, parking will resume at 8 a.m. on Friday.

Each team will be provided with an envelope labeled "competitor registration kit" as they enter the pits. It will contain valuable information including an event schedule, detailed race procedures, updated ADRL rules, a tech card, a run card and all necessary decals.

After a team has parked, competitors and crewmembers will be directed to the all-new-for-2009 Summit ADRL Membership Zone booth that will be located next to the ADRL Adrenaline Zone merchandise trailer in the Fan Experience Village. The new booth is bright red, easy to find and will be staffed by ADRL personnel at all times with a special emphasis on minimizing any wait for ADRL competitors and crewmembers.

ADRL Director of Membership Services Aimee Visney will be on hand to oversee the new process and will be available to answer any questions.

"Kenny (ADRL President and CEO Nowling) made me aware that in years past, this has been a difficult and lengthy process for our competitors and crewmembers and he told me to fix it," said Visney. "That’s exactly what we've done.

"We will have six dedicated ADRL staff members assigned specifically to memberships and registration working throughout the weekend to ensure that this process is efficient and handled in a timely manner."

In an effort to expedite this process, all competitors and crewmembers seeking restricted area access are encouraged to obtain their membership prior to the season opener by going to the ADRL website (www.ADRL.us) or by calling ADRL headquarters at 636.272.2375 and asking for membership services.
