FORCE HOOD FAN MAKES MOST OF STIMULUS CHECK

Last May when then President Bush announced that Americans would be receiving stimulus checks it is doubtful that he knew Georgian ashley_sanyo_fan.jpgJujuan Prater would use the money to make her own high horsepower purchase. She knew exactly how she was going to stimulate the economy as well as her need for speed.

“When President Bush sent out the stimulus check I went out and bought the Ashley Force 46” Sanyo TV with it. I bought it because her picture was on it. I had gone to our local Wal-Mart and nobody had them out. I knew they had come out but I didn’t see any. I had a friend that worked in the electronics department and I asked her if they had the Ashley Force Sanyo TVs. She went back to check and she was gone for about 45 minutes. They had everybody looking and they were the last TVs back there since they had just come in. They dusted it off, brought it out to me and I bought it that day,” said Jujuan Prater, from Bremen, Georgia. Mrs. Prater kept the box in nearly mint condition for almost a year and brought it out to the 29th annual Summit NHRA Southern Nationals at Atlanta Dragway today. She and her husband were some of the first fans to gather at Ashley Force Hood’s pit area this morning. When Force Hood arrived she promptly signed the box and posed for a quick photo before heading to the tower for a live TV interview with AutoScoop, a nationally syndicated automotive enthusiast television show.

Mrs. Prater has been enjoying the Sanyo TV but her meeting with Force Hood today was a highlight for the long time John Force Racing fan.

“We have been John Force fans for a long time. I remember I was flipping through the channels on my TV one day and John Force was giving an interview. I thought he was crazy, funny and really entertaining. I had to go get my husband and show him John on TV. We have been fans ever since,” said Prater.

After the purchase Prater did not realize she created a stir in the local Wal-Mart with her passionate purchase. On a return visit to enhance her TV viewing experience she received her own moment of notoriety.

“I own my own business and the only things we watch on TV is NHRA Full Throttle Drag Racing. We love the picture on this Sanyo TV. It is awesome. We were the talk of Wal-Mart and I didn’t realize it until one of the girls I work with told me I needed to get a surround sound to go with that big TV. I went back to Wal-Mart at the end of that week and I asked someone to show me the surround sound systems we just bought a big Sanyo TV. The employee asked if I was the woman that bought the TV just for the box and I said yes. She said everybody in the store was talking about me. I thought that was really funny,” concluded Prater.
