Australian drag racer Steve Easton heads to the Monster MOPAR Weekend at Summit Motorsports Park, part of the Rumble Wars Extreme 8 Series, looking to put on an entertaining show for the thousands of fans in attendance. During this weekend’s 6th annual running of the largest all MOPAR drag race in the world, Easton will be squaring off against a tough group of Pro Mod racers on Friday - Sunday.  
 
“Although I race a lot of different cars, Pro Mods are my favorite,” explained Easton. “The car doesn’t talk to you as much as a Funny Car and they aren’t as fast as a Funny Car but they are technically challenging to drive and a whole lot of fun at over 200 mph.”  
 
Easton will be piloting the Motorsports Unlimited, Hemi-powered 2012 Corvette. His debut in the car last weekend saw him race away with the runner-up title. The team is looking to improve on that this weekend with another strong performance.
 
Easton has made his new home here in the U.S. after growing up in Australia. The racer from down under has been making a name for himself racing a variety of race cars from Nostalgia Funny Cars to the wild and fast Pro Mods.
 
“I have been racing all MOPAR events in Australia for over 10 years with my family’s own Hemi powered Dodge Daytona Funny Car. I am really excited to race this weekend at an amazing facility like Summit Motorsports Park. The Baders are great promoters and Mopar fans are some the most passionate fans in the country.”
 
People come from all over the country just to watch the racing and see the cars at the Monster MOPAR Weekend. There is a reason people call it the largest all Mopar drag race in the world. Mopar race cars in a wide variety of classed and body styles will be flying down the race track all weekend. Car and Driver magazine wrote that the Hemi Mopar is unquestionable the king of the muscle cars, both for its speed and for its defiance. The 426 Hemi is considered one of the finest engines ever produced.
