ENTRY DEADLINE PASSES, AND NO JFR REGISTERED TO RACE INDY

The details are sketchy except for one; it's pretty clear cut and evident.

John Force Racing will not compete at this weekend's NHRA Nationals at Lucas Oil Raceway unless there's a change in the procedure for missing the entry deadline for the event. As of closing time yesterday, the NHRA didn't receive an entry for the team's drivers John Force, Robert Hight, Brittany Force and Austin Prock.

NHRA's Jeffrey Young confirmed the deadline passed without an entry into the event.

Multiple sources confirmed JFR would issue a statement on Monday. Still, the team's public relations official Sara Slaughter told CompetitionPlus.com senior editor Susan Wade, who also writes for Autoweek, there would be no statement regarding the numerous rumors floating around regarding the 16-time NHRA champion's plans.

John Force Racing has remained silent on their plans, and as noted in multiple outlets, they aren't discussing their plans.

At this time, all that remains is speculation for the future whether it's taking this race off, or sitting out the season. Or, quite possibly retirement isn't out of the question.

Until Force, the man speaks, all there will be is speculation because no one is talking.

This weekend's absence will be the first time since March 2007 when the team sat out the NHRA event in Houston following Eric Medlen's death while testing his Funny Car in Gainesville, Fla. All but one car sat out later that season in Richmond, Va., following Force's accident in Dallas.
