NMRA CHANGES 2019 DATE FOR NMRA FORD MOTORSPORT NATIONALS

NMRA’s event schedule has been rearranged for the better with the historic Ford Motorsport Nationals moving back to June 27-30 at Maple Grove Raceway in 2019. It’s no secret the event has struggled with weather for the past three seasons and the move out of the wet month of May should provide the sunshine craved by racers, fans, sponsors, and organizers.

“With only 52 weekends in a year and the event season at Maple Grove Raceway crammed into 29 weeks, we worked hard with Bill Bader and his staff to find a strong date for the NMRA Ford Motorsport Nationals that works for both parties,” said Rollie Miller, general manager of the NMRA Ford Nationals. “When you have a partner like Maple Grove Raceway you find the best way to make it happen and we know the new June 27-30 weekend is going to work out great for our NMRA racers, fans and sponsors.”

Bill Bader Jr., whose Energize management company runs Maple Grove Raceway, had this to say, “We’re very excited about our new contract extension with ProMedia’s NMRA Ford Motorsport Nationals. I’m even more excited about our new June date! I’m confident that with blue sky and sunshine we will be able to finally realize the event’s true potential."

Maple Grove Raceway and the NMRA Ford Nationals also signed a three-year contract extension ensuring a stable and consistent home for the series in the Northeast region. The last weekend of June is the original date of the Ford Motorsport Nationals and it served the event well for 14 years of its history. The June 27-30, 2019, date puts the prestigious event into a much better time of year and it will be the fourth stop on the six-race NMRA Ford Nationals championship schedule.
