OPERATION: FILL THE BOX DELIVERS FOR TROOPS

The mission has been clear from the start.

Operation: Fill the Box, a non-profit effort headed up by Brian and Lisa Losness of Boise, Idaho, had the goal to send 1050 care packages to National Guard soldiers. The soldiers are with Task Force Rattler, which is currently deployed to both Kuwait and Syria.

Brian Losness, whose son is one of the deployed soldiers, reached out to several of his friends in the drag racing community. Without hesitation, they quickly agreed to help.

"We would love to thank Tony Bartone, Westside Machine Racing Engines, Kenny's Rod Shop, John Hale with Best of Texas BBQ Sauce, Ed and Wendy Jones, Jim Murphy's WWII Racing, Frank and Carla Greenough, and Dennis and Judy Radford for believing in Operation: Fill the Box and our goal to help our troops during the holidays," Losness said. "Our son is part of the deployment and is in Syria."

John Hale, the owner of Best of Texas BBQ Sauce, was instrumental in getting Losness in contact with a company that could handle the shipping of eight full pallets of care packages to a military base in Kuwait.

Task Force Rattler is primarily made up of Idaho National Guard Troops augmented with troops from North and South Carolina, Ohio, Montana, and Oregon.

"Everyone will receive a care package this holiday season," Losness said. "A huge thank you to everyone who helped make this happen."
