PHILPOT FAMILY RACING SIGNS MAJOR SPONSOR FOR SPORTSMAN PROGRAM

Just weeks after announcing a new partnership with NHRA legend Warren Johnson to campaign a Pro Stock car in 2017, the Philpot Family Racing team has signed a new major sponsor. Falcon Automation, an oilfield automation company specializing in systems integration, has signed on to back the team’s sportsman racing entries owned by Tim and Lareasa Philpot and driven by their sons, Austin and Aaron, beginning at this weekend’s Thunder in the Heartland NHRA divisional event in Noble, Okla., Oct. 5-9.

“We’re extremely happy with the partnership,” said Austin Philpot, a two-time Junior Dragster champion. “We feel it’s something that’s going to benefit both us and Falcon Automations."

Based in Boerne, Texas, Falcon Automation will serve as the primary sponsor on the nitrous-assisted Top Sportsman Chevy Cavalier driven by Aaron Philpot, 17, and tuned by Austin, 18. Their primary sponsorship will also carry over to Austin’s new supercharged Top Dragster. Finally, Falcon will appear as an associate sponsor on the Philpot Family Racing NHRA Pro Stock car to be driven by Austin in the 2017 NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series season.

“We’re running the Top Sportsman car at the Noble race this weekend, then we’ll be attending the Dallas national event the following weekend, though we won’t be racing. I’m planning on going to the Vegas race to continue lining things up for the Pro Stock program in 2017. Between all of that, we’re going to do a lot of testing with our sportsman cars. We really haven’t leaned on the nitrous tune-up with the Top Sportsman car yet, so we’re going to take that car out and try to get after it a little harder. My blown Top Dragster should be ready to hit the track in a few weeks, and we’ll start testing that in preparation for NHRA and PDRA competition next year,” Austin added.
