SHAWN REED SECURES GESI PARTNERSHIP FOR REMAINDER OF 2024 SEASON
As the 2025 NHRA season approaches, Top Fuel team owner and pilot Shawn Reed is focused on maximizing the remaining 2024 season. Reed has partnered with Global Emissions Systems Inc. (GESi) to support his 11,000 horsepower Top Fuel operation.
“I was fortunate to be introduced to Eric Latino, president of GESi, through a mutual acquaintance in the NHRA,” Reed said. “We share a passion for drag racing and, as the owner of Reed Trucking & Excavating, our work involves strict emission requirements, which GESi supports.”
Eric Latino emphasized GESi's commitment to drag racing teams. “Every race team in this parking lot has an emission device that will ultimately fail,” Latino said. “I want to be your partner when looking to replace these after-treatment systems. For 25 years, GESi has focused on advanced emission reduction technologies, providing solutions for a range of commercial vehicles.”
Reflecting on his inaugural full NHRA season and achieving a career-best elapsed time and speed of 3.676 seconds at 330.71 mph in Charlotte, Reed highlighted the importance of off-track efforts. “The successes we experience on the racetrack have to run parallel to those off it,” he said. “Without innovative partnerships like the one with GESi, our racing program couldn't sustain the financial pressures of competing in Top Fuel.”
GESi specializes in designing and manufacturing emission control technologies for various engine types and fuels. For over 25 years, the company has invested in research and development, ensuring their products meet stringent emission standards set by regulatory agencies like CARB and EPA.
Headquartered in Ontario, Canada, GESi expanded into the United States in 2020 with a facility outside Charlotte, North Carolina. The company emphasizes vertical integration, managing every aspect of production to deliver cost-effective solutions.
In the high-performance automotive market, GESi operates under the G-Sport™ brand, offering a line of EPA-compliant catalytic converters designed for high horsepower applications. Their DPFXFIT™ brand serves the heavy-duty on-road market, providing diesel particulate filters and catalysts that meet or exceed OEM requirements.
Additionally, GESi supports the industrial sector, custom-engineering after-treatment systems for various applications, including emergency backup power engines. The company’s mission is to design, engineer, manufacture, sell, and support emission technologies that exceed industry expectations.
