TAD SUPERSTAR JULIE NATAAS NOW HAS A TOP FUEL LICENSE

Top Alcohol Dragster sensation Julie Nataas has moved one step closer to her dream. Following the NHRA Virginia Nationals, she earned her Top Fuel driving credentials while driving a Scrappers Racing Top Fuel dragster with sponsorship from Airmine, Elliotts Customs Trailer, and OTG.

Nataas completed her progressive passes and, including two three-second passes under the guidance of Scrappers crew chief Rob Flynn.

Nataas is ready whenever her big moment arrives.

“I am now officially licensed in Top Fuel,” Nataas said in a video produced by React104. “I made three hits today. The first one was the first initial hit to get it out of the way. I wanted to throw up in the tow vehicle before that one. It was all good, nothing to worry about.”

Nataas ran a 3.95 and a 3.82 to complete the process.

Nataas quickly pointed out she has an excellent support system with Scrappers Racing. A good measure of that system could be credited to crew chief Rob Flynn, who has become a Top Fuel license whisperer.

The first driver he assisted ever getting a license was Bruce Sarver, but in the last season, he’s assisted Travis Shumake, Jasmine Salinas, and Angelle Sampey (A/Fuel).

” [Julie] sat in the car like she belonged in there,” Flynn told CompetitionPlus.com. “As soon as she sat in the car, we could tell she’s a driver. I mean, right away. She is incredibly impressive. But reality is, I mean, she’s a driver. She’s raced all her life pretty much in whatever form of racing that is.”

There are no set-in-stone plans for Nataas to graduate into the top of the food chain for drag racing, but when the time comes, she will be ready.

“This does not mean anything special for next year yet,” Nataas said. “This is just my first initial step of getting there. We will be making more test runs and passes coming up. I’m still chasing the sponsorships for going full-time next year. That is my ultimate goal.
