THE BIKES GET THEIR SHOT WITH ALL-STAR CALLOUT IN SONOMA

The NHRA Pro Stock Motorcycle All-Star Callout field is set for this weekend's 35th annual Denso NHRA Sonoma Nationals at the picturesque Sonoma Raceway. This event is the final race in the renowned NHRA Western Swing series, and the eight riders in the All-Star Callout are determined to battle it out.

Gaige Herrera secured the top seed position, ensuring he will select his first-round opponent in this unique specialty race. Following Herrera, the riders seeded second through eighth are Hector Arana Jr., Eddie Krawiec, Matt Smith, Steve Johnson, Angie Smith, Chase Van Sant, and Mark Ingwersen.

The specialty event commences with the actual callout on Friday at 7:45 PM PT on the starting line stage. Herrera will exercise his right to choose his first-round opponent, with Arana Jr. having the subsequent pick if not called out, followed by Krawiec. This process continues until all the first-round matchups are determined.

In this format, the winning rider of the opening round can select their semifinal opponent. The finals of the NHRA Pro Stock Motorcycle All-Star Callout hold considerable significance, with a bonus purse and substantial bragging rights.

Scheduled for Saturday, the NHRA Pro Stock Motorcycle All-Star Callout kicks off with the first round at 12:30 PM PT, followed by the semifinals at 2:15 PM, and the finals at 3:40 PM. For those unable to attend, a special broadcast highlighting the specialty race will air at 10 PM ET Saturday on Fox Sports 1 (FS1).

Herrera, the current points leader, wants to get it all started. With five wins in seven PSM races, Herrera has also triumphed in the first two races of the NHRA Western Swing. He has a chance to make history by becoming the first-ever rider in Pro Stock Motorcycle history to sweep all three races. However, his immediate focus remains on securing a victory in Saturday's bonus race on his Vance & Hines/Mission Foods Suzuki.

"It's going to be a busy weekend in Sonoma, for sure. Sonoma is always a fast track, and I'm really excited to be part of and race in the callout. The whole category is tightening up, and everyone is stepping it up, which is good for the class."

Another rider looking forward to the specialty race is Angie Smith, who will be called out in the opening round. She enjoys the increased attention on Pro Stock Motorcycle due to the specialty event.

"I feel like Vance & Hines is going to call out the (Matt Smith Racing) team," she said. "I think it brings excitement and emphasis to our class, so it's going to be cool and really interesting."
