WORLD FOOTBRAKE CHALLENGE X – SUNDAY RESULTS

Brian Cirredu

After a long day on Saturday where the WFC competitors witnessed the completion of three separate races, the blue skies and sunshine were a welcome sight to the over 300 race cars which competed today for the final race of the tenth version of this great event.

“Both Steve [Stites-co-promoter] and myself are so thankful for the hundreds of racers who chose to attend our event,” said co-promoter Jared Pennington. “Between the support we get from the racers and the many sponsors who have the vision to support this the grassroots of drag racing, it gives us a great feeling for the future of our sport.”

In the quarterfinal round there remained seven; Kevin Pollard, Brian Cirredu, Thomas Kleppin, Matt Dadas, Dustin Avondet, Brandon White and Robert Hindman; with Cirredu receiving the last bye run of the day in the quarters.

With Cirredu taking his bye run, the next three pairs all involved red lights with Pollard, White and Hindman all advancing.

And for the final race of the weekend, it was to be Tennessee versus Ohio as Brunswick, Ohio’s Cirredu defeated Pollard who ran under by .002. The half had Knoxville, Tennessee’s Hindman, a former Fun Ford series champ taking the win when White lit the big red bulb.

For the final round, Hindman, who is no stranger to winner’s circles, missed the ‘tree ever so much with an .062 reaction time to Cirredu’s .007. The tale of the tape was definitely on the starting line as Cirredu added to his collection of wins.

“A big thanks goes out to Plattinum Products, Mo-Par City and Environmental Oil Recovery for their support of the live video feed all weekend long,” said Pennington.
