Gary Burgin. Randy Humphrey. Chase Van Sant.
These are three racers who did the unthinkable. They stopped the unstoppable.
When Gary Burgin ended Don Prudhomme’s winning streak at Indy in 1976, Van Sant was -21 years old. Randy Humphrey ended Bob Glidden’s incredible calendar year streak when Van Sant was at the unripe age of -18.

Top Fuel star Steve Torrence wasn’t sleepless in Seattle – not at all.
He was victorious.
Torrence snapped a 20-race winless streak by capturing the title at the Northwest Nationals in Seattle, which also happened to be the last race he won on July 23, 2023.
Torrence clocked a 3.963-second elapsed time at 279.79 mph to edge Shawn Langdon, who slowed to 4.171 seconds at 216.79 mph.

The Prock rocket Funny Car keeps soaring to new heights.
Prock, who drives the Cornwell Tools/AAA Chevrolet Camaro SS for John Force Racing, won his fourth race of the season, claiming the title at the Northwest Nationals in Seattle on Sunday.
In the finals, Prock clocked a 3.875-second elapsed time at 334.57 mph to defeat first-time finalist Paul Lee, who smoked the tires and slowed to 5.335 seconds at 138.06 mph at Pacific Raceways.

Home is where your heart is; for two of the NHRA’s top nitro racers, their hearts were in Seattle. Steve Torrence went back-to-back as NHRA Northwest Nationals champion, and for Funny Car rookie Austin Prock, he picked up another Seattle win.
Joining them in the Mission Foods Series winner’s circle were Jeg Coughlin Jr. (Pro Stock) and Chase Van Sant (Pro Stock Motorcycle).
Funny Car points leader Austin Prock powered to his fourth win of the season for John Force Racing on Sunday at Pacific Raceways, defeating first-time finalist Paul Lee in the final round of the 35th annual NHRA Northwest Nationals.

As a student of the game, Ron Capps knows the inherent dangers of driving a nitro-burning Funny Car. Sunday, outside of Seattle, Wash., the three-time NHRA Funny Car driver was given a reminder.
During the first round at the NHRA Northwest Nationals, Capps’ NAPA Auto Parts-sponsored Toyota Funny Car exploded an engine, sending it first into the right retaining wall and then across the track, where it made contact with the left wall.

At every NHRA national event Pro Stock race there’s one constant: Never count out Erica Enders.
Enders, a world champion 2014-15, 2019-20, and 2022-23, is always a factor to step into the spotlight.
The Houston, Texas, driver did exactly that at the Northwest Nationals late Friday night.
Enders clocked a 6.500-second run at 209.98 mph, which was good enough to give her the No. 1 qualifying spot after Saturday’s final two sessions at Pacific Raceways.

To say Gaige Herrera has been dominant the last two years in NHRA’s Pro Stock Motorcycle is a vast understatement. Herrera has been nearly unstoppable aboard the RevZilla/Mission/Vance & Hines Suzuki.
Herrera has won 17 of the last 23 contested NHRA PSM events – and that’s not the most impressive thing he has done.
Herrera has won six races in a row since the beginning of the 2024 season (an NHRA record) and extended his NHRA records for consecutive elimination-round wins (43) and consecutive race wins (11).
