BROGDON'S BIRTHDAY PRESENT HEADLINES DAY ONE NHRA FINALS SPORTSMAN QUALIFIERS

 

"Happy Birthday to me."

Those words past NHRA Pro Stock driver and Comp Eliminator racer Rodger Brogdon uttered when he exited his Rooftec-sponsored B/Altered Automatic Camaro during Thursday's final qualifying session at the AAA NHRA Finals in Pomona, Ca.

Brogdon ran a 6.900 elapsed time, -.700 under the index, to take the top spot in the second session. Ryan Priddy, who runs in A/Altered Automatic, led the first session and stood on his 6.434, -0.686 to land second. Sportsman drag racing icon Jeff Taylor, also in B/Altered Automatic, was third with a 6.920, -0.680 performance.

B. FORCE, PEDREGON, ANDERSON AND SAMPEY PICK UP PROVISIONAL NO. 1 POSITIONS AT NHRA FINALS

DOUBLE POINTS ARE UP FOR GRABS WHEN THE AUSTRALIAN TOP FUEL CHAMPIONSHIP RESUMES

 

After a topsy-turvey beginning, the 2022-23 Burson Auto Parts Australian Top Fuel Championship returns after a two-month break for round three at the Perth Motorplex, Western Australia, 11-12 November.

The meeting will also incorporate the final round from the opening meeting of the season at Alice Springs Inland Dragway in September, which was canceled due to inclement weather.

ATFC organizers, in conjunction with the teams, then decided to run the finals during round two of the championship at Heathcote Park Raceway, Victoria, last month. Those plans were thwarted when the meeting was canceled.

CMR CONSTRUCTION & ROOFING AND KALITTA MOTORSPORTS EXTEND MAJOR PROGRAM INTO 2023

 

After two successful seasons with Kalitta Motorsports CMR Construction and Roofing will continue their marketing relationship with the multi-time world championship team throughout the 2023 NHRA Camping World Drag Racing Series season. Heading into the next season CMR Construction and Roofing will be the primary sponsor on Shawn Langdon’s Toyota Top Fuel dragster for four NHRA national events with additional exposure at the prestigious U.S. Nationals. CMR will adorn Langdon’s 11,000-horsepower race car as primary sponsor at national events in Gainesville, the first Las Vegas race, Brainerd, and Dallas in addition to co-primary sponsor at Indianapolis. Doug Kalitta will campaign a CMR Construction and Roofing Top Fuel dragster at the first race of the 2023 NHRA Countdown contested at Maple Grove Raceway in Reading, Pennsylvania.

NHRA REVEALS 2023 FOX SPORTS TV SCHEDULE

 

Starting with a must-see FOX broadcast to open the 2023 season in Gainesville, NHRA and FOX Sports today announced the NHRA Camping World Drag Racing Series schedule for the upcoming season.

All 21 races, plus the two Pep Boys NHRA All-Star Callout events, will be broadcast on either FOX or FS1, including eight broadcasts on the FOX broadcast network. That starts with the highly-anticipated 2023 season-opener, the 54th annual Amalie Motor Oil NHRA Gatornationals at Gainesville, where eliminations will be showcased on FOX starting at 12 p.m. on Sunday, March 12.

CLASSIC GRAPHIX' SCOTT BATHURST HAS PURCHASED REDLINE SHIRT CLUB

 

Scott Bathurst estimates he has 200 clients monthly for his popular Classic Graphix t-shirt brand, and staying on top of customer demands can be challenging. So what does the popular King of T-shirts do to help his cause? He's added another 700 or so clients.

Bathurst recently purchased the Red Line Shirt Club, a program that provides collector t-shirts monthly to its subscribers.

JIM DUNN RACING WILL BE MOON-EQUIPPED IN POMONA

The tradition of rolling out a Moon sponsored Funny Car with Jim Dunn Racing continues during the NHRA Auto Club Finals at Pomona. In addition to being the team’s primary sponsor, Moon will have on-site presence at the Fairplex track with its popular merchandise trailer.

The relationship between Jim Dunn Racing and Moon is filled with legendary racing history, and is highlited by two California entities looking to have fun hot rodding.  Team Manager, Jon Dunn, said “The fans will like the look of this year’s Moon Equipped Funny Car at the Finals.  It has a bright red highlight that will show up in the daylight and especially if we get to run at dusk on Friday or Saturday’s later qualifying sessions.”

SCHUMACHER TO CAMPAIGN A SOLDIER'S CHILD DRAGSTER IN POMONA

 

For over a decade, Tony Schumacher represented the United States Army. This weekend he will be representing a key demographic of the country's military family - the children.

Thanks to the Maynard Family Racing's (JCM) commitment to an end of the season "giving car," the dragster driven by Schumacher will be adorned in the livery of the Tennessee-based A Soldier’s Child [ASC] nonprofit program. At the last race in Las Vegas, the team featured the American Mobility Project.

HE'S NO LONGER FORMER, MAURICE DUPONT RETURNS IN POMONA TO RACE TOP FUEL

 

Maurice Dupont understands he's in for a weekend like he never experienced when racing Top Fuel in the 1990s. It took the plane ride home from successfully relicensing in Tucson, Az., to confirm it's a whole new ballgame. 

Dupont was headed back home to Oakland, Ca, to retrieve a few items before heading to the Fairplex in Pomona as a driver in Scott Palmer's stable of Top Fuel dragsters.
