It’s one of those things she doesn’t want to focus on, but can’t help but think about it. Enders has won four of the first six events this season. Of those four, three are consecutive, a feat she’s only pulled off once in her career. 

“There are way more valleys than there are peaks in this sport, but you just have to ride the wave of success as long as you can,” Enders said. “The pendulum swings in different directions at different times, and we’re on a really great high right now. But I feel like we can continue this for sure. I’m the biggest variable as a human in the cockpit, so if I can continue to do my job I know my guys, when their backs are against the wall, they perform every single time and I try to do the same. So I feel like we’ve really learned how to race on Sunday together because it’s very different than qualifying. 

Troy Coughlin Jr. really is a good boy. Although at just a shade under 32 years old, he cannot be considered a boy.

Some 22 years old, the third-generation drag racer admits he flirted with the wild side. 

A ten-year-old admitted “superfan,” Coughlin just wanted to get close enough to the starting line to see Dad have a chance at winning his first NHRA Pro Stock event. 

NHRA Top Fuel owner-driver Mike Salinas’ love affair with Bristol Dragway continues.

But the NHRA Pro Stock phenom is going to give it another try Sunday at the Thunder Valley Nationals at Bristol, Tenn. 

Angelle Sampey said last year after her first – and her Pro Stock Motorcycle class’ – visit to Tennessee’s Bristol Dragway for the NHRA Thunder Valley Nationals that she “was genuinely petrified” to go down the quirky lanes, with their capricious bumps. 

This year the staff at the historic Bruton Smith-owned facility in the hills of East Tennessee renovated the racing surface. So the track was significantly improved but still a mystery, with few runs on it, a Friday rain shower, still not a ton of data from it, and Saturday conditions that were the hottest the Camping World Drag Racing competitors had encountered.

After years of wishful thinking from race fans, NHRA will deliver its first video game in years for video consoles and PC on August 26, 2022.

Just when it appeared NHRA Top Fuel owner-driver Josh Hart was starting to get a handle on his new R+L Carriers Dragster by cranking out a 3.791-second elapsed time on a Bristol Dragway racetrack that had frustrated almost every Funny Car racer in the minutes before, along came Steve Torrence. 

Trying himself to coax those epic class-dominating performances of the past four or five years from his still-strong Capco Contractors Dragster, Torrence matched Hart at 3.791 seconds and raised the ante in their 300-plus-mph Thunder Valley Nationals poker game Friday on the Tennessee track.
