RICK, RICKIE JONES RELISH ROLES AS OFFICIAL CHASSIS BUILDERS AT WORLD DOORSLAMMER NATIONALS

Little did Rick Jones know when he purchased a 1969 Camaro in 1978 that it would be the cornerstone of a storied career in race car fabricating. Over 30 years of building race cars have come full circle for Rick and his son Rickie. Their RJ Race Cars, Quartermax brand, has been named the official chassis builder of the World Doorslammer Nationals promoted by Drag Illustrated, scheduled for next month in Orlando, Fla.

Jones’ focus has not been dragsters or Funny Cars; instead, his successful shop in Galesburg, Ill., has become a destination for those seeking top doorslammers and accessories.

RJ Race Cars have built cars for many of the top names in Pro Stock, Pro Mod, and the sportsman ranks, and last year celebrated back-to-back NHRA championships for Erica Enders (Pro Stock) and Stevie “Fast” Jackson (Pro Mod) with the RJ chassis brand.
