THERE'S A NEW GENERATION OF CHAOS HEADED TO NHRA PRO STOCK

More than a decade after Kenny Koretsky made his final competitive runs down a dragstrip, his son, Kyle Koretsky, is now preparing to make his debut in the NHRA Pro Stock class. Kyle, 30, will be racing a Chevy Camaro prepared by the Mooresville, N.C. based Ken Black Racing team. He plans to debut at the 51st annual NHRA Gatornationals, March 12-15 in Gainesville, Fla.

“I grew up watching my dad race and from the time I was a little kid, all I wanted to do was follow his lead and race in Pro Stock. I can't believe it's finally going to happen,” Kyle said. “I definitely have a little bit of nerves, but I’ve been around these cars my whole life, so I have a good idea what to expect. Pro Stock cars are not easy to drive, but I’m determined to learn. I’m going to be surrounded by a team that is full of champions like Greg Anderson, Jason Line and Bo Butner, so that’s a big plus. I can’t think of a better group to be a part of.”

FORCE RACING TO BRING NEW SPONSORS AND FOUR DRIVERS TO NHRA FOR 2020

John Force Racing will feature four full-time hot rods in the NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series driven by their returning 2019 roster of drivers, Robert Hight, John Force, Brittany Force and Austin Prock.

President of John Force Racing and reigning three-time Funny Car world champion Robert Hight will continue to drive the Auto Club of Southern California Chevrolet Camaro SS with his tandem of crew chiefs Jimmy Prock and Chris Cunningham. The trio picked up their third world title in 2019 after earning eight No. 1 qualifiers and winning six races, a career high for Hight. Hight, who has raced for Auto Club of Southern California / AAA for his entire career, won his 50th (and 51st) career victory as well as his 500th round win in what was a historic 2019. The title year comes after winning four races in seven final rounds on their way to finishing second in 2018.

REACTION FROM THE PITS REGARDING 2020 COUNTDOWN REVISIONS

The changes NHRA announced Jan. 22 and made to get into the Mello Yello Drag Racing Series Countdown to the Championship provided similar thoughts of frustration from team owner Bob Vandergriff Jr., Pro Stock pilot Matt Hartford and Pro Stock Motorcycle world champ Matt Smith and one different viewpoint from nitro Funny car world champion Matt Hagan.

As NHRA stated, like in the past, the top 10 drivers in each of the Mello Yello Drag Racing Series categories at the conclusion of the NHRA U.S. Nationals Sept. 7 will earn positions in the Countdown to the Championship.

MONSTER RETURNS TO SPONSOR BRITTANY FORCE

NHRA ADJUSTS COUNTDOWN QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

The NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series Countdown to the Championship will see some new elements this year. Competitors may earn their way into the Countdown to the Championship, NHRA’s version of the playoffs, by one of two ways.

As in previous years, the top ten drivers in each of the NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series categories at the conclusion of the NHRA U.S. Nationals will earn positions in the Countdown to the Championship.

New for 2020, drivers in the Mello Yello Drag Racing Series who meet a minimum set of requirements will also earn their place in the playoffs.

KALITTA REVEALS DRIVERS FOR 2020

After a busy off-season that saw Kalitta Motorsports add or extend sponsorship relationships nearly half a dozen marketing partners the multi-time world championship winning organization is ready to get back on the track. The 2020 NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series will see Kalitta Motorsports field two Top Fuel Dragsters and one Nitro Funny Car throughout the season.

STEVIE "FAST" TOPS ARP POLL AS MOST EXCITING DRIVER

Stevie "Fast" Jackson might not be able to outrun John Force in his race car. He's likely not even signed a tenth of the autographs the 16-time NHRA champion has.

But what he can say, according to the latest ARP Question of the Week poll, he's the most entertaining drag racer in the NHRA at this moment.

Jackson scored a majority of 41-percent of the votes cast, to edge Force, who reeled in a 33-percent share. Nitro thumping, warm-up hero Scott Palmer was third-most with 13 percent.
