Just missing being able to compete in the NHRA’s Mello Yello Series Countdown to the Championship has altered Top Fuel driver Scott Palmer’s approach to the final six races of the season.

The Top 10 drivers in the Top Fuel points standings following the completion of NHRA’s 18-race regular season are eligible to run for a world championship in the final six races. Palmer placed 12th in the regular-season points in his Magic Dry Organic Absorbent dragster sponsored by Tommy Thompson.

He certainly isn’t shy letting you know what he thinks about that question. 

“I know I can,” a confident Tasca said. “The nice thing is people can say it, well we actually do it. We can run with anyone out here on any given Sunday.” 

NHRA officials released the 2020 national event schedule for the E3 Spark Plugs NHRA Pro Mod Drag Racing Series presented by J&A Service. This exciting series featuring an eclectic mix of powerful vehicles will compete at 12 of the 24 events on the NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series schedule.

 Life, more specifically business commitments have got in the way of Pro Stock racer Shane Tucker.

Tucker, from Queensland, Australia, has competed in seven NHRA Mello Yello Series races this season, getting one round win in Gainesville, Fla.

NHRA officials released the 2020 schedule for the Pro Stock Motorcycle category of the NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series. Pro Stock Motorcycle riders will once again compete at 16 of the 24 events on the series. This exciting class, which recently broke the 200 mph barrier, will be competing at several new locations in 2020.

Not long ago, qualifying for NHRA Mello Yello Series Pro Stock events was an accomplishment for Matt Hartford.

Fast-forward to the present and Hartford has become a championship contender in his Total Seal Piston Rings/CIP1 Pro Stock Camaro.

NHRA officials released the 2020 schedule for the Pro Stock category of the NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series. Pro Stock teams will compete at 18 of the 24 events on the series. Throughout the year, NHRA will celebrate the 50th anniversary of this exciting and competitive class.

Pro Stock returns to several venues in 2020 including the Mopar Express Lane NHRA SpringNationals in Houston, the NHRA Southern Nationals in Atlanta and the Menards NHRA Heartland Nationals in Topeka, Kan. Additionally, fans in Bristol, Tenn. and Epping, N.H. will see Pro Stock in action at the NHRA Thunder Valley Nationals and the NHRA New England Nationals. 

Lex Joon Racing has announced Lance Larsen, veteran nitro tuner, will consult with LJR through the remainder of the 2019 season.

Burnell, 79, thanks to the Larry Dixon two-seat Top Fuel dragster became the quickest nitro passenger in history at US 131 Motorsports Park in Martin, Mich.
