B. FORCE, BECKMAN, LINE & HINES START STRONG, TAKE PROVISIONAL NO. 1 SPOTS AT U.S. NATIONALS

Brittany Force powered her way to the provisional No. 1 spot in Top Fuel on Friday during the 65th annual Chevrolet Performance U.S. Nationals at Lucas Oil Raceway at Indianapolis.

Jack Beckman (Funny Car), Jason Line (Pro Stock) and Andrew Hines (Pro Stock Motorcycle) are also provisional No. 1 qualifiers in their respective categories at the final regular-season race of the 2019 NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series season. It is the 18th of 24 events in 2019.

TANNER GRAY SOAKING IN U.S. NATIONALS AS A FAN

Tanner Gray, the 2018 NHRA Mello Series Pro Stock world champion is at the U.S. Nationals at Lucas Oil Raceway this weekend.

However, Gray is not competing. He left the NHRA ranks at the end of the season to pursue a career in NASCAR.

HOLLEY NAMES GEOFF TURK AS C.O.O

 

Geoff M. Turk has joined Holley's executive management team as Chief Operating Officer. Geoff has extensive senior level experience in operations, R&D and acquisitions with U. S. Steel, Caterpillar as well as General Motors. 

UPDATE: RACING UNDERWAY AT U.S. NATIONALS AFTER LENGTHY DELAY

 

The first day of competition at the biggest event of the year in drag racing is on a delay. Officials have said it is going to be at least noon before cars hit the track.

This weekend, at drag racing's most prestigious event, the Chevrolet Performance NHRA U.S. Nationals will be presented in an expanded format. This herculean effort includes seven event notebooks penned by five reporters with extensive photo and video notebooks.

PAUL LEE ACQUIRES FTI PERFORMANCE CONVERTERS

 

 

Paul Lee, owner of McLeod Racing, has expanded his business portfolio with the aquisition of FTI Performance Converters. Through the acquisition, Lee will be working closely with FTI Performance founders, Greg and Phaedra Samuel. With the purchase and agreement of the established driveline company, Lee and Samuel plan to continue to dominate the aftermarket and racing industry with manual, torque converters, and automatic transmission drivetrain components. 

APPLIED IMAGING RETURNS WITH KALITTA IN INDY

 

During the U.S. Nationals last season Team Kalitta hosted a contingent from Applied Imaging at the most prestigious drag race in the world showcasing the business to business opportunities NHRA drag racing offered. Now one year later Applied Imaging returns to Indy branded on all four Team Kalitta nitro entries. The award-winning Michigan based company focuses on managed print and network services as well as hardware and software solutions for companies across the Midwest and is looking to use their relationship with Team Kalitta to expand their reach and customer base.

Steve Torrence’s absolute dominance in the 2018 NHRA Countdown to the Championship -- a six-for-six victory streak -- will always ranks as one of drag racing’s mind-boggling feats.

It’s no surprise that the Texan has kept up a torrid pace in 2019 and leads the standings by a significant margin heading into the U.S. Nationals, the final race of the regular season. 

INTERNATIONAL DRAG RACING HALL OF FAME ANNOUNCES 2020 INDUCTEES

The 2020 class of the International Drag Racing Hall of Fame has been unveiled.

The class consists of Lee Beard, Don Enriquez, Roy Hill, Billy Meyer and Larry Minor.

JIM DUNN RACING BRINGS WILEY X SUNGLASSES TO NHRA EVENTS

Jim Dunn Racing has been partnered with Wiley X sunglasses for more than a decade and is bringing them to the NHRA midway starting at the NHRA U.S. Nationals in Indianapolis.  

Drag Racing fans attending the big race in Indy will be able to buy the latest styles that Wiley X regularly sells on the NASCAR tour.  Wiley X will have its retail display set up in NHRA’s Nitro Alley from Friday qualifying through Monday race day eliminations.
