NO WAY STEVIE FAST WAS MISSING WSOPM

Stevie “Fast” Jackson was already itching to get back to the dragstrip.

A phone call from Jim Whiteley on Saturday was the final nudge the star driver needed to return to Bandimere Speedway for this weekend’s Drag Illustrated World Series of Pro Mod presented by J&A Service, Elite Motorsports, Big O Tires and benefiting One Cure.

Jackson, the NHRA Pro Mod points leader, had begrudgingly planned on sitting out the race in 2019 as he honed in trying to win his first NHRA world championship.

EVEN A TORNADO CAN'T STOP NIGHT UNDER FIRE

After a tornado touched down yesterday, Aug. 6, 2019 at Summit Motorsports Park and surrounding areas in Norwalk, Ohio, minimal damage occurred, no one on-site was injured and a story was posted to the park’s website and social media to assure fans that repairs would be made in time for the 42nd Annual Kelly Night Under Fire, this Saturday, Aug. 10 at Summit Motorsports Park.

FLOWING MEMORIES FOR FORCE AT 150

The memories blew through John Force’s brain like a freight trail barreling through a crossing. One minute they were there, and the next - gone.

Sunday, Force celebrated a monumental 150th career victory; one which took him 25 races to achieve. It was a stretch of frustration which led Force to utter multiple f-bombs on live television and kiss final round opponent Ron Capps on the lips, and later giving wife Laurie one on the cheek.

SNYDER GUNNING FOR TS TITLE AT WSOPM

Mick Snyder has fond memories of racing at Bandimere Speedway, even if the lone trip to Thunder Mountain came two decades ago.

Snyder, J.R. Todd, the reigning NHRA Funny Car world champ, and Aaron Glaser all went on a road-trip together with Snyder’s family to the Jr. Dragster championships in the late 1990s. They all pitted together at the end of the track, providing a last memory at Bandimere Speedway.

JOHN FORCE CAPTURES HISTORIC 150th WIN AT SEATTLE

The chase for his latest milestone is over for John Force.

The legendary 16-time world champion won his 150th career national event when he took home the title at the Magic Dry Organic Absorbent NHRA Northwest Nationals Sunday in Seattle.

PROCK TAG-TEAMS WITH BOSS FORCE, SPOILER HARTFORD TO STAND IN SEATTLE SPOTLIGHT

Austin Prock, the fresh face of the NHRA’s Top Fuel class, has been anything but timid since he burst on the scene this February, gaining a ride in a dragster almost literally on the eve of the season-opener but asserting himself right out of the gate.

He has had fun, pedaling the throttle to defeat 2017 champion Brittany Force (on whose crew he worked last year) in his first elimination round, challenging fellow rookie and buddy Jordan Vandergriff to a T-shirt sales contest, and throwing class dominator and reigning champion Steve Torrence off-guard by telling him, “I’m coming for you” – in his first-ever day of qualifying.

MATT HARTFORD PLAYS SPOILER, WINS SEATTLE

Pro Stock driver Matt Hartford played the spoiler Sunday at the Magic Dry Organic Absorbent NHRA Northwest Nationals Sunday in Seattle.

And, he was all right with that fact.

NO BROKEN BONES FOR TFH RIDER BEAU LAYNE

FORCE GETS WIN NO. 150, PROCK SECURES FIRST VICTORY AND HARTFORD GRABS WIN AT NHRA NORTHWEST NATIONALS

John Force powered to his 150th Funny Car win on Sunday, rolling to the milestone victory at the 32nd annual Magic Dry Absorbent NHRA Northwest Nationals.

While Force earned his 150th career win, John Force Racing teammate and Top Fuel rookie Austin Prock picked up his first career win as part of a historic day for JFR. Matt Hartford also won in Pro Stock at the 16th of 24 races during the 2019 NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series season. It was the final of three races on the famed NHRA Western Swing.

TASCA DETONATES FUNNY CAR BODY

Bob Tasca III’s Motorcraft /Quick Lane Ford Mustang team had a mad thrash before the final qualifying session Saturday, courtesy of a sizeable engine blast toward the end of his third overall run. Tasca was unhurt, but his carbon-fiber body didn’t fare as well. It was destroyed as it exploded and piled up behind the cockpit at grotesque angles.

But Tasca took it in stride and even used a little humor immediately afterward.

“We want to put on a show for these fans, give them a little excitement,” Tasca teased.
