With a dramatic flourish near the control tower of World Wide Technology Raceway at Gateway, Pro Mod star Keith Haney proudly peeled back his car cover Aug 3, to reveal the "Black Mamba," a brand-new 2019 Camaro built for him by Jerry Bickel Race Cars, not far away in Moscow Mills, Missouri.
An appreciative round of applause immediately broke out among the large crowd of fans, fellow racers and media members gathered for the unveiling at the historic St. Louis-area drag strip, as Haney beamed with pride and more than a little relief after keeping his new, all-purpose Pro Mod/Drag Radial entry top secret for several months.

Friday night was good enough for Jeg Coughlin Jr. to be the best Saturday after qualifying was complete at the Magic Dry Organic Absorbent NHRA Northwest Nationals in Seattle.
Coughlin clocked a 6.539-second elapsed time at 210.57 mph to capture the No. 1 qualifying spot in his JEGS.com Elite Motorsports Chevrolet Camaro at Pacific Raceways.

Mike Salinas secured his fourth No. 1 qualifier of the 2019 NHRA season in Top Fuel on Saturday at the Magic Dry Organic Absorbent NHRA Northwest Nationals at Pacific Raceways.
Bob Tasca III (Funny Car) and Jeg Coughlin Jr. (Pro Stock) are also No. 1 qualifiers in their respective categories at the 16th of 24 races during the 2019 NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series season. It is also the last of three races on the NHRA’s famed Western Swing.

When Bob Tasca III did a makeover on his team earlier this season it made all the difference in the world.
In the last six races, Tasca’s Ford Mustang has been one of the best in the NHRA Mello Yello Series Funny Car class.

The last three races Top Fuel driver Mike Salinas has competed, in Norwalk, Ohio, Denver and Sonoma, Calif., did not end well. They were all first-round losses.
Salinas changed his fortunes Friday night at the Magic Dry Organic Absorbent NHRA Northwest Nationals in Seattle.
