The 50th annual Amalie Motor Oil NHRA Gatornationals on Sunday at Gainesville Raceway will go down as one of the weirdest races in Pro Stock.
The last driver standing – or, sitting, as it were, as he was the only driver in the final round – was Bo Butner, and, boy, was he appreciative of winning the 50th Gatornationals.

It was a final round for the record books today at the 50th annual Amalie Motor Oil NHRA Gatornationals between E3 Spark Plugs Pro Mod Drag Racing series presented by Hoosier Tire and Jerry Bickel Race Cars racers Todd Tutterow and Steve Jackson.

Third time is the charm; at least this is how Stevie "Fast" Jackson sees it.
After two sessions where his new Camaro didn't make it to the finish line, Jackson and crew chief Billy Stocklin nailed the combination and lit up the scoreboards with a 5.665 elapsed time at 253.99 miles per hour to secure his second No. 1 qualifier while racing in NHRA competition.
Jackson's elapsed time now stands as the series national elapsed time record.

The 2018 season was one to forget for Pro Stock Motorcycle racer Andrew Hines. He finished sixth in the final points standings, his lowest result since 2013.
But what stung the most was not winning a single race. That hasn't happened since 2003, his first full-time season in NHRA.
