WORSHAM LOVES DRAG RACING REGARDLESS OF THE ROLE

 

Del Worsham knew from a young age; his life would be intertwined within the very thread of drag racing. He was only seven years old when sitting in the passenger seat of his dad Chuck's 1962 Corvette, Worsham became a bonafide co-pilot; working the stick on runs at the old Orange County International Raceway as his dad would push in the clutch. 

OCIR starter Larry Sutton put an end to the practice, as he noticed the second-generation Worsham, although belted in the car, was only wearing a football helmet.

DANNY ROWE RACING SUSPENDS RACING OPERATIONS

 

 Team owner and driver Danny Rowe announced today that he would be indefinitely suspending the operation of his Pro Mod drag racing team. 

“Of course, this is a tough decision to make, but with business opportunities both here and abroad and the travel schedule associated with those endeavors, we’ve made the choice to park the race team for the time being.”

Rowe, who has been a mainstay on the E3 Spark Plugs NHRA Pro Mod Drag Racing Series tour for the last decade and spearheaded the formation and growth of the Real Pro Mod Association, was quick to confirm that he intends to remain involved in the sport and wouldn’t rule out a return to the driver’s seat in the future.

STEVIE "FAST" JACKSON LOOKING FOR SPONSORSHIP TO CONTINUE

 

“Stevie Fast” Jackson, one of drag racing’s biggest stars, is fresh off a spectacular 2018 campaign that included wins at two of the biggest races of the year.

With a star profile that continues to rise, Jackson and his KTR team are also actively seeking marketing partners for the 2019 season.

THREE-TIME CHAMP SAMPEY LEAVING TEAM LIBERTY RACING

 

When the 2019 NHRA Mello Season begins, three-time Pro Stock Motorcycle world champion Angelle Sampey will not be driving for Team Liberty Racing.

“After the season ended in Pomona, Cory (Reed) and I sat down to discuss our future together and the direction of the team and as a result of those discussions, I decided that it was best to take a step back and look at other options,” Sampey said an article on nhra.com Dec. 3. “I am extremely grateful to Cory Reed, the Whiteley family, and everyone at Liberty Racing for allowing me to be a part of the team and continue my career these last two seasons. We had our share of growing pains but I’m proud that we were able to make it into the top 10 this year.”

VP RACING FUELS TO INTRODUCE NEW FUELS AT PRI

DRAG ILLUSTRATED TO UNVEIL FOURTH ANNUAL 30 UNDER 30 LIST AT PRI

 

Drag Illustrated’s annual 30 Under 30 list will be revealed during its official press conference and magazine cover reveal at 1:30 p.m. on Friday at the Performance Racing Industry (PRI) show at the Indiana Convention Center in Indianapolis.
 
The fourth annual list will be announced in the PRI Media Center, Rooms 116 & 117, and one-on-one interviews will be available with Drag Illustrated Founder and Editorial Director Wes Buck, as well as the 30 Under 30 honorees in attendance following the press conference. The cover of Drag Illustrated #139 will also be officially released at that time. 

GARY SCELZI LEGENDS: THE SERIES EPISODE TO PREMIERE AT 2018 PRI

 

For the second year in a row CompetitionPlus.com owner and publisher Bobby Bennett will unveil a new episode of the popular Legends: The Series at the 31st Annual Performance Racing Industry Trade Show in the PRI Media Center inside the Indiana Convention Center in Indianapolis.  The premiere, which will be sponsored by Aeromotive Fuel Systems, will take place on December 7 at 2:30 p.m. and will feature 4-time NHRA champion Gary Scelzi, one of the most outrageous, outspoken and dominant drivers in the history of drag racing.

DELAGO BACK ON THE FREE AGENT MARKET

 

 

After a brief stint at Cruz Pedregon Racing, crew chief Tommy DeLago is back on the sidelines, and at a crossroads in his career.

Delago said he was informed Friday, November 23, 2018 that there was no deal in place for his employment for 2019.

"It was pretty straight-forward, it's his car, and he can do whatever he wants to with it, and that includes tuning," DeLago said.
