GOOD VIBRATIONS MOTORSPORTS TO SPONSOR 2018 UNFC RACE SERIES

Good Vibrations Motorsports, a leader in sponsorship of Heritage type drag racing in the United States and Canada, will be the title sponsor of the initial five-race United Nitro Funny Car Series.

In a joint announcement by Good Vibrations Motorsports' President Jim Maher and UNFC CEO Bill Doner, the initial series featuring Heritage/Nostalgia Funny Cars will have a $25,000 prize money payout to the top five finishers at the conclusion of the 2018 season.

Frank Aragona Jr. was taking Old Bridge Township Raceway Park’s announcement to heart.

“I haven’t slept all night, and I’ve been kind of sick all day over this news,” the 2007 national Competition Eliminator champion said Wednesday following the Napp Family’s prepared public statement that it is discontinuing drag racing at the historic Englishtown, N.J., facility.

Richie Crampton’s Top Fuel Dragster will display the Kalitta Air and DHL partnership in multiple races for the 2018 season. The scheme is modeled after the co-branded DHL and Kalitta Air 747s that deliver packages worldwide.

"The DHL partnership with Kalitta Air has been going on for many years and has been one of our most successful,” said Kalitta Air owner and drag racing icon Connie Kalitta. “I am pleased to be able to showcase our relationship on the Top Fuel dragster driven by Richie Crampton. We plan on continuing that run of success with many victories this season."

In announcing a 2018 schedule anchored by such standards as the Original Super Chevy Show, MOPARS at the Rock, the AMRA Nitro Harley World Finals, the NHRA’s Lucas Oil Series, the ManCup national motorcycle series and the Rugged Maniacs Series, Earwood revealed that more than $1.5 million in cash has been posted for bracket racing in the Top Eliminator, No Box and Footbrake classes.

While Ford has maintained its presence in NHRA through support of various Sportsman teams, it withdrew support of professional nitro racing when it discontinued sponsorships after the 2013 season for Tasca, John Force Racing and Tim Wilkerson 

GIBBS MOVED NITRO REVIVAL TO LAGUNA SECA WITH EYE ON THE FUTURE

 

Steve Gibbs made a major impact last fall with his inaugural, one-day Nitro Revival event at Barona Drag Strip, the small, eighth-mile facility located outside of San Diego, Ca.

In fact, the event made such an impact it became apparent early in the day the track while the track provided the perfect atmosphere, it clearly had its logistical limits. And much to the chagrin of event promoter Steve Gibbs, he was forced to seek out a new venue for the 2018 event. 

The second annual Nitro Revival will settle into a new home at Mazda Raceway in Laguna Seca outside of Monterrey, Ca., May 18 - 20, 2018.

MWPMS INTRODUCES EXCLUSIVE VIDEO SERVICE FOR 2018 SEASON

The Frankenstein Engine Dynamics Mid-West Pro Mod Series (MWPMS) proudly announced that videographer Jimmy Biggs, with backing from Accufab Inc. and LENCO Racing Transmissions, will attend all scheduled events this year to document MWPMS racers’ progress through pit reports, as well as feature MWPMS sponsors and race track partners in promotional videos.

Biggs was introduced to the rapidly growing series at its season finale last fall at Osage Casino Tulsa Raceway Park, co-owned by MWPMS promoter and competitor Keith Haney and Todd Martin, who also races in the all-eighth-mile series.
