400 Thunder, Australia's premiere professional race series, will race an expanded schedule during the 2017 - 2018 season.

In addition to foundation tracks Sydney Dragway and Willowbank Raceway as well as Springmount Raceway in Cairns, the 400 Thunder Series has added four new venues to the calendar for the upcoming season. 

With three major events at both Sydney Dragway and Willowbank Raceway, and new events at Calder Park in Victoria, the Perth Motorplex and Adelaide International Raceway,  Top Fuel will compete at six Championship rounds across the season, with an additional two non-championship showdowns at Calder Park and Adelaide International Raceway. 

Veteran drag racing voice Al Tucci has been named the official announcer of the world’s biggest and richest Pro Mod race in the history of the known universe, this weekend’s Drag Illustrated World Series of Pro Mod at Bandimere Speedway.
 
Owning one of the most recognizable voices in the sport, Tucci is closing in on three decades of announcing some of the top Pro Mod races in drag racing history. With $100,000 going to the winner and an all-star list of Pro Mod drivers competing this weekend in Denver, the chance to be part of history was something Tucci didn’t want to miss.

Promoter Randy Folk introduced VP Racing Fuels as the Official Fuel of The Million Dollar Drag Race scheduled October 19-22 at Montgomery Raceway Park in Montgomery, Alabama.  As part of its sponsorship, VP will provide trackside fuel service throughout the event.
 
Celebrating its 22nd consecutive year, The Million offers racers across the country an opportunity to compete for life-changing payouts.  The annual event often pays in excess of $300,000, making The Million home of the largest payday in drag racing history!  Through the efforts of Folk and his daughter, Jennifer, The Million Dollar Drag Race has shown continued growth over the last two decades and keeps drivers, fans, and sponsors alike returning year after year. The race now features more than 300 entries in the prestigious main Million event, and over 600 racers competing in the three companion races, which pay $25,000 as the top prize each day.

It is safe to say that history was made at Sonoma Raceway.

Entering the NHRA Sonoma Nationals, defending Top Fuel world champion Antron Brown had a record of 22-3 against Steve Torrence.

Judging from Sunday, Torrence has exorcised that hex.

LE Tonglet expected to have success when he joined defending world champion Jerry Savoie on the White Alligator Racing team this season.

But the professional firefighter from Metairie, Louisiana, said he never dreamed that he would dominate the Pro Stock Motorcycle class in his Nitro Fish Racing Suzuki.

J.R. Todd powered to his first career Funny Car victory Sunday at the 30th annual Toyota NHRA Sonoma Nationals at Sonoma Raceway.

Steve Torrence (Top Fuel) Tanner Gray (Pro Stock) and LE Tonglet (Pro Stock Motorcycle) were also victorious in their respective categories at the 15th of 24 events on the 2017 NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series schedule.
