BROWN, C. FORCE, BUTNER, TONGLET PROVISIONAL QUALIFIERS AT ENGLISHTOWN

COUGHLIN LEADS FRIDAY PRO MOD QUALIFYING AT SUMMERNATIONALS

Troy Coughlin is currently atop the NHRA J&A Service Pro Mod Drag Racing Series portion of the NHRA Summernationals. This weekend’s Pro Mod racing, presented by Aquaball, is the sixth of 12 events this season.

Coughlin raced a 5.772-second pass at 257.53 mph in his JEGS Mail Order ’15 Corvette.

 

 

HARRIS RUNS QUICKEST AUSTRALIAN TOP FUEL TIME IN FAST WILLOWBANK FRIDAY

Damien Harris made drag racing history during the first day of professional qualifying at the 50th Annual Winter Nationals at Willowbank Raceway located outside of Brisbane. 

Harris, driving the Rapisarda Autosport International dragster tuned by Santo Rapisardo Jr., stopped the timers at 4.443 seconds at 335.32 miles per hour. 

"I was pretty surprised because it was a good clean run," Harris said. "It went right down the middle, a really good run. When they told me it was a 4.4-second run, it was pretty special. I knew the boys wanted to go in the 4.40s. We were going for low 4.50s and creep up. "

Harris ran 3.78 to the 1,000-foot at 302 miles per hour. 

UPDATE: BLAKE ALEXANDER TO COMPETE IN TOP FUEL CLASS AT ENGLISHTOWN

As reported by Competition Plus earlier this week, veteran nitro Funny Car racer Blake Alexander did attempt to finish the final step Wednesday to receive his Top Fuel license in Reading, Pa., June 7 and he was successful in obtaining his ticket.

“I only had to make one more pass and I got it done,” Alexander said.

SINGLETON SCORES FIRST OFAA WIN IN SAN ANTONIO

The Outlaw Fuel Altered Association, presented by Good Vibrations Motorsports and Lone Star Forklift, charged into San Antonio Raceway on Saturday, June 3rd with twelve cars on the property set to rock the grandstands in the Alamo City. This was only the second points race of the season after a rainout in May and Donny McSwain's "Wild One" held the points lead coming in hot after his win at the season opener in April.

HOLLEY NATIONAL HOT ROD REUNION TO HONOR LEGENDS OF RACING

The Holley National Hot Rod Reunion presented by AAA (June 15-17) is not only a sprawling celebration of automobiles but also pays honor to those who were instrumental in the growth of racing. On Friday June 16, event grand marshal Eileen Daniels and all the honoree’s will be celebrated at an event at Beech Bend Raceway Park.

They will all be celebrated during the course of the weekend and a special reception for the group will take place at Beech Bend Raceway Park at the conclusion of racing. The gathering will be held in the Honoree Reception tent located across from Holley, inside the vendor oval. This star studded reception at Beech Bend Raceway Park will allow the growing number of racers, hot rodders, and enthusiasts who continue to support the Holley National Hot Rod Reunion take part in all of the festivities without having to leave the track.
