J&A Service, a leader in oil and gas well-servicing exploration, has signed an agreement to extend their series sponsorship of the popular NHRA Pro Mod Drag Racing Series. The NHRA J&A Service Pro Mod Drag Racing Series also announced the 2017 racing schedule which will expand to 12 events for the coming season.
 
New for 2017 will be an event at the NHRA Four-Wide Nationals at ZMax Dragway, April 28-30. The 12th event will be announced at a later date.

While many fans and media members at The Strip at Las Vegas Motor Speedway were focused on Ron Capp’s quest for his first NHRA Funny Car title, the 67-year-old Force came away with his 147th career win in the NHRA Toyota Nationals.

Steve Torrence has conquered cancer.

He has survived a heart attack.

Antron  Brown stole all the suspense from the Top Fuel championship chase Sunday at the NHRA Toyota Nationals at The Strip at Las Vegas Motor Speedway.

But Jerry Savoie poured the drama into the Pro Stock Motorcycle season showdown with his final-round 6.915-second, 194.13-mph victory on the White  Alligator Racing Suzuki over red-lighting Andrew Hines.

Shane Gray recently announced that he will give the keys of his Pro Stock Valvoline/Nova Services Chevrolet Camaro to his teenage son, Tanner, next season.

Judging from Sunday’s NHRA Toyota Nationals at The Strip at Las Vegas Motor Speedway, Tanner will have a tough act to follow.
 

Antron Brown secured his third NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series Top Fuel world championship Sunday at the NHRA Toyota Nationals.

After defeating Wayne Newby in the quarterfinals, Antron outlasted his two closest chasers, Doug Kalitta, who lost in the quarterfinal round to Steve Torrence, and Shawn Langdon, who fell in the first round to J.R. Todd, to secure the season crown.

Troy Coughlin raced to victory Sunday in the final NHRA J&A Service Pro Mod Drag Racing Series race of the 2016 season. The Pro Mod event was presented by Aeromotive, Inc. and was a portion of the NHRA Toyota Nationals.

Coughlin, a two-time world champion, powered his JEGS.com Chevy Corvette to a 5.814-second pass at 250.78 mph to defeat Todd Tutterow’s 6.018 at 233.92. This was the third win of the season for Coughlin who narrowly lost the season championship to Rickie Smith.

​Mac Tools Dragster driver Doug Kalitta, the No. 2-seeded Top Fuel contender, said the topic of his repeated bridesmaid status is “definitely one of those subjects like getting your teeth pulled. You know, you don’t really feel like sitting around and talking about it – at least I wouldn’t.”

So don’t expect a flood of frustration from the low-key Michigan airline owner who once again is resigned to missing out on a championship. He put his situation in perspective.
