PROCK, HAGAN, ENDERS AND SAMPEY EARN TOP SPOTS AT TEXAS NHRA FALLNATIONALS

KRIS THORNE CLINCHES WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP IN FUELTECH NHRA PRO MOD

With a victory in the first round of eliminations on Saturday as part of the 37th annual Texas NHRA FallNationals at Texas Motorplex, Kris Thorne clinched the world championship in the FuelTech NHRA Pro Mod Drag Racing Series presented by D-Wagon. 

Thorne went 5.857-seconds at 244.00 mph in his ProCharger-powered Camaro, rolling past Rickey Fischer in the opening round of eliminations. With a sizable points lead entering the race weekend, the first-round victory was enough to hand Thorne his first career NHRA world championship. It caps off an incredible 2022 season for Thorne, who has earned three victories through the first nine races this season. 

AUSTIN PROCK TURNS HEADS WITH TOP FUEL PROVISIONAL NO. 1 IN DALLAS

Austin Prock picked a good time to have a good (elapsed time).

Prock driving for John Force Racing clocked a 3.682-second elapsed time at 334.57 mph Friday night to grab the provisional No. 1 position at the Texas NHRA FallNationals.

MATT HAGAN CAPTURES PROVISIONAL FC NO. 1 SPOT IN DALLAS

Matt Hagan arrived at the Texas Motorplex near Dallas for the Texas NHRA FallNationals this weekend chasing points.

Hagan was third in the points standings – 103 behind leader Robert Hight – with three races left in the season, including Dallas.

Matt Hagan powered to the Funny Car track record on Friday at Texas Motorplex, taking the provisional No. 1 position for Tony Stewart Racing at the 37th annual Texas NHRA FallNationals. 

Austin Prock (Top Fuel), Erica Enders (Pro Stock) and Angelle Sampey (Pro Stock Motorcycle) are also provisional No. 1 qualifiers at the 20th event in the 2022 NHRA Camping World Drag Racing Series season and the fourth of six races in the Countdown to the Championship playoffs. 

CARUSO ADDS OZ SAFEROOMS TO SPONSOR LINE FOR REST OF 2022 SEASON

 

Having a safe place is a good thing these days. 

NHRA Countdown rookie of the year front-runner and Pro Stock championship contender Camrie Caruso along with Caruso Family Racing, have added OZ Saferooms to their Sand Haulers of America Chevrolet Camaro Pro Stock race car during the NHRA Texas Fall Nationals this weekend. OZ Saferooms builds the first and only above-ground seamless concrete tornado structure. Caruso is battling a tough field of Pro Stock competitors and marketing support continues to assist the young driver as the 2022 NHRA season winds to a close.

Defending Switzer Dynamics Pro Nitrous world champion Jim Halsey is one step closer to securing a fourth consecutive Professional Drag Racers Association (PDRA) world championship after taking the provisional No. 1 spot at the Proline Racing Brian Olson Memorial World Finals presented by ProCharger on Friday night at Virginia Motorsports Park.

You’ll be hard-pressed to find a bigger fan of the annual Drag Racing Association of Women [DRAW] Auction held each Saturday evening annually at the NHRA FallNationals in Ennis, Texas, than Comp Eliminator racer Rodger Brogdon. 

The Drag Racing Association of Women (DRAW) is a non-profit organization that provides financial and emotional support to qualified individuals involved in drag racing accidents at a track. Since 1985, the group has donated millions of dollars in assistance to racers injured in racing accidents.

For the second year in a row the historic Texas Motorplex, located between Ennis and Waxahachie on Highway 287, will host the premiere National Hot Rod Association (NHRA) drag racing event in the state of Texas -- the Texas NHRA Fall Nationals as well as a multitude of motorsports and concert events across Ellis County. Millions of fans have experienced 330-mph races and have witnessed historic races between John Force, Cruz Pedregon, Greg Anderson, Steve Torrence and many more as they set records and amazed crowds. This year the Stampede of Speed, October 7-16, 10 days of racing events, plus two major concerts and a full day of professional testing will pump more money into the wallets of race teams from across the country than ever before.
