Don Garlits has experienced some wild rides in his day but few like the
one he took during the Southern Nostalgia Shootout recently at South Georgia Motorsports Park.
“Big Daddy” did a 180-degree spin in a front engine dragster.

Garlits brought his Swamp Rat VIII recreation to put on a show for the
fans. He made a short blast on Saturday and another on Sunday, and
participated in the Cacklefest on Saturday night. He spent hours talking
with his fans and signing autographs.

On Saturday, Don suited up and pushed his car down the right lane,
turned
around and push-started it coming toward the starting line in the left
lane. He then turned in staging and made a smoky blast for 330-feet or so
to give fans a feel for drag racing the way it used to be. 

International Speedway Corporation (Nasdaq: ISCA)(OTC Bulletin Board: ISCB)
("ISC") has announced it has entered into a purchase agreement with
Indianapolis Motor Speedway Corporation to indirectly acquire an additional 37.5
percent interest in Raceway Associates, LLC ("Raceway Associates"), owner and
operator of Chicagoland Speedway and Route 66 Raceway in Joliet, Illinois. The
purchase price for the transaction is approximately $69 million in cash.

After the transaction closes, ISC will own 100 percent of Motorsports
Alliance, LLC ("Motorsports Alliance"), which owns 75 percent of Raceway
Associates. Raceway Associates was formed in 1999 as a joint venture between
Motorsports Alliance and the former owners of Route 66 Raceway. Raceway
Associates subsequently developed Chicagoland Speedway, a 75,000 seat facility
hosting premier motorsports events from the NASCAR NEXTEL Cup, NASCAR Busch, IRL
IndyCar and ARCA RE/MAX series.

Ray
Price, diverse businessman, inducted member of the National
Motorcycle Museum
and Hall of Fame, “Father of Funny Bike,” owner of Ray Price
Harley-Davidson/Buell, Inc., and local philanthropist, was recognized on
October 17^th with his own special day by the city of Raleigh. 

City
officials have honored Price for his continuous efforts to help the city and
its citizens, and after he successfully brought over 65,000 people to the 2^nd
annual Ray Price Capital City Bike Fest Rally they proclaimed November 4^th
as Ray Price Day.  Price will celebrate his day with an estimated 6,000 of
his closest friends at an open house at Ray Price Harley-Davidson/Buell.  

Funny Car Driver Terry Haddock and his wife Bambee are proud to announce the arrival of their son McKailen Skyler. The newest addition to the Haddock family weighed 7-pounds, 1-ounce, and was born at 4:30 p.m., Monday, at Stevens Hospital in Lyynwood, Wash.

"He's doing great," Haddock said. "He's healthy and happy, and it's an amazing experience. Bambee and I have been so nervous after losing McKailee last year, but our boy is doing just fine.

Six-time NHRA champion Kenny Bernstein announced that 20-year team sponsor Mac
Tools will expand its involvement with Kenny Bernstein Racing to include the
Monster Energy/Lucas Oil Funny Car that will debut next season.

“Our team
has won championships with Mac Tools,” said Bernstein. “They’re dependable and
tough enough to withstand the rigorous test of maintaining 7,000-horsepower,
four-second rockets on a 23-event race schedule.”

Lost in all the celebration of his teammate Jason Line clinching the
2006 NHRA POWERade Pro Stock Championship on Sunday, was the fact that
Greg Anderson, driver of the KB Racing LLC / Summit Racing Equipment
Pro Stock Pontiac GTO, won his 300th round of racing.

In the opening round of eliminations for the recently completed NHRA
ACDelco Las Vegas Nationals, Anderson defeated Mike Edwards to record
his 300th round win in a driving career that began in 1998. Anderson
covered The Strip at Las Vegas Motor Speedway quarter-mile in 6.743
seconds to 6.791 seconds for Edwards.

learned that tomorrow, Wednesday, November 1, Norwalk Raceway Park and Summit
Racing Equipment will jointly announce that the Official Mail Order Company of
the NHRA has signed a 10-year agreement for the naming rights to the venerable
Ohio quarter mile facility.  The cumbersome official title
will be “Summit Racing Equipment Motorsports Park,” a moniker not likely to be
utilized by the media due to its length, but who are we to
criticize?  We’ve also heard that the deal includes a significant
six figure annual fee.

The NHRA has announced
the 2007 AC Delco Nationals at The Strip at Las Vegas Motor Speedway will return
to its original date on the last weekend of October.  Previously announced for the weekend of October 18-21,
the date change moved the race away from the weekend prior to the SEMA Show, and
also took if off the Friday statewide Nevada Day holiday, two factors that
undoubtedly had a very positive impact on this year’s exceptional Friday and
weekend-long spectator and industry turnouts.  Vocal protests from track management apparently didn’t
fall on deaf ears, with next year’s race date now slated for the weekend of
October 25-28.
