As a vice president of JEGS Mail Order, John Coughlin has a pivotal role in the
company’s involvement in the annual JEGS Allstars race, which is held each year
at Route 66 Raceway in Joliet, Ill. Coughlin, along with his brothers, Troy,
Mike and Jeg, and their staff, help plan and promote the annual event, which
brings together the best sportsman racers from each of NHRA’s seven geographic
divisions.
Now, Coughlin will have the rare opportunity to experience the JEGS
Allstars from a different perspective as he competes in the event as the North
Central Division’s Super Stock representative on Saturday June 7, during the
Torco Race Fuel Route 66 Nationals. Racing his familiar yellow and black Chevy
Cobalt, Coughlin survived a heated battle against some of the division’s top
drivers to earn his spot on the team, which will be competing for a share of the
more than $100,000 in posted awards. If he can win the Super Stock title,
Coughlin will earn $6,000 and if he is able to lead the Division 3 group to the
overall team title, they will split an additional $20,000 bonus.
