TOP FUEL TEAM NOMINATED FOR MARKETING AWARD

sponsored Top Fuel drag racing team has been selected as a finalist for the
North Carolina Motorsports Association Motorsports Industry  marketing award.
The Award recognizes outstanding achievement in the area of event and program
marketing by companies which manage, create, and activate marketing campaigns.
As a result of SGM’s efforts, Serta inked Accor hotels, whose brands include
Motel 6 and Red Roof Inn. Accor has long been a supporter of the National Hot
Rod Association through numerous marketing campaigns most notable of which is
the “Who Got the Light” award.

ANOTHER ONE OF THOSE RACING MILLICANS?

Another Millican is getting his feet wet...err..."dirty" in racing.
Dalton Millican recently competed in the Arenacross hosted by the Shelby Showplace Arena in Memphis, Tennessee.

RODGER BROGDON READY FOR PS TESTING; EARNS AWARD

This past weekend during the NHRA Lucas Oil division Four
awards banquet in Houston TX, Rodger Brogdon was awarded the prestigious
Division 4 “Good Guy of the Year” award. The award was presented this year to
Brogdon for his continued behind the scenes efforts that include sponsorship of
the Comp Eliminator category in the division and establishing and maintaining
an eliminator bonus contingency program that is now being duplicated across the
country. Rodger this past year also established a “Raise the Roof” fundraising
program to generate support for announcer Lynn Nickerson and his battle with
cancer. The program has generated a tremendous response from all spectrums of
the racing community, as well as a substantial amount of fan support and
contributions for the ailing Nickerson.

NHRA PRO MODIFIED SCHEDULE

According to a reliable source, the NHRA and AMS Staff Leasing have established a schedule but the official announcement is still in limbo.

PHIL READ WINS AUSSIE NIGHTFIRE

read.jpgReigning Australian Top Fuel Champion Phil Read made a serious points purchase
towards back-to-back crowns in the kings of the sport of Drag Racing, after
securing a strong win at the New Year's 'Night Fire' event at Queensland's
Wilowbank Raceway.

"It w as a challenging event with a lot of crew
assisting Santo Rapisarda and Allan Dobson as well and we even leant some bits
and pieces to the Lamattina team as well. However considering the outcome of the
weekend, it was all worthwhile," remarked Chief Wrench Bruce Read.

JEG'S TO SUPPORT HOME TEAM

The flag poles look a little different today at the headquarters of JEGS
Automotive Inc.  Normally the three flag poles in front of the corporate offices
fly the flags for The United State of America, State of Ohio and Team JEGS. 
Today an Ohio State Buckeyes flag was raised into position to show support for
The Ohio State Buckeyes and their quest for the BSC championship.

CARL SPIERING AND EATON ULTIMATE POWER TRIP

Consistency was the key to the success of the
Ultimate Power Trip in 2006, and Eaton Corporation's electrical business
(Canadian Operations) has announced drag racing personality Carl Spiering will
be back for 2007 flying the Eaton
colors.

Spiering, driving the Eaton
Supercharged Pro Modified 1967 Chevrolet Camaro, finished the 2006 season in
seventh position in the IHRA eMax Nitro Jam™ Drag Racing Series. Spiering was
one of two competitors competing in the full IHRA 2006 season to qualify at each
event. He continues to lead the chase for the 2007 Torco Race Fuels Pro Modified
Shootout that is to be contested at the Torco Racing Fuels Northern Nationals,
August 3 to 5, 2007, at US 131 Motorsports Park in Martin
Michigan.

 

JIM MEISER FUNERAL SERVICES

Jim Meiser, an icon in the race
fuel industry and a close friend to many, succumbed to cancer on Thursday
afternoon. Meiser had been a part of the Torco Race Fuels family since 1996.

 

His services have been set.

 

The body will be at the J. Nelson Rigby Funeral Home in Media, PA. Visitation will be Tuesday, January 8, 2007 from 10 AM - Noon. The burial will take place at 1 PM.
