LUCAS TAKES THE BOBSLED SILVER MEDAL

bob13.jpgMorgan Lucas used precision driving abilities to steer through the dreaded
chicane and the harrowing Dick Trickle corner (Curve 18) on the Olympic Bobsled
run at the Lake Placid Olympic Sports facility to capture the silver medal among
a field of professional racecar drivers at the second annual Bodyne Bobsled
Charity Classic.

After discussing each driver's competitive runs among
themselves, Lucas took the key points to listen and learn allowing him to
negotiate the tight corners and wind up with the second quickest time only to be
outdone by last year's winner and son of a former Olympic Bobsledder, Boris
Said. Seven-time NASCAR modified champion Mike Stephanik took the
Bronze.

MUNCIE DRAGWAY HEADED TO NHRA

Sources indicated that yet another IHRA track has defected over to the NHRA. Muncie Dragway in Muncie, Indiana, is now an NHRA LODRS Division 3 track as confirmed by their official website. Once an official statement is made we will post it.

JEGGIE CAN'T WAIT TO GET STARTED

With 47 national event victories and three world championships to his credit,
veteran Pro Stock driver Jeg Coughlin brings a level of confidence and
expectation into the 2007 season. As driver of Victor Cagnazzi's Slammers
Ultimate Milk/Jegs.com Chevrolet Cobalt, Coughlin looks at the pending season as
a clean canvas, one he hopes to paint with a vivid and memorable return trip to
the top of the sport.

"I have every reason to think we'll contend for
the POWERade championship from the onset," said the 36-year-old from Delaware,
Ohio. "Having been fortunate enough in the past to have won it all, we know what
it takes to get there. It's a long journey and one that will undoubtedly be
filled with highs and lows. But if you believe in yourself and your team, which
I do, then I know from experience your dreams can come true."

HERZOG RE-SIGNS PEDREGON RACING

Pedregon Racing today announced that Herzog has re-signed as a major associate
sponsor with both Cruz and Tony Pedregon’s NHRA POWERade Drag Racing Series
Nitro Funny Car teams for 2007.

"I am extremely excited to have
the Herzog Companies back with our team heading into the 2007 season," Cruz
Pedregon said. "Herzog has been an integral part of our team’s growth since they
came on board. It’s always important to have proper funding, but more than that,
it’s important to have the right people behind your team – and Stan, Randy and
Bill Herzog and their staff have been great to work with. They have become true
friends of ours, and we value their personal support. I hope we can bring them
continued success and represent them well in the coming season, which hopefully
will allow us to continue this relationship for many more years."

LUCAS AND TODD SHARE BOBSLEDDING OPTIMISM

The scenic countryside and picturesque surroundings of Lake Placid,
site of the 1932 and 1980 Winter Olympics, has offered the NHRA Top Fuel aces
Morgan Lucas and J.R. Todd an Olympic sensation unlike any have ever felt before
– riding in a competitive Olympic bobsled.

They are among the drivers featured in Geoff Bodine’s Bobsled
Challenge.  The event, run in conjunction with U.S. National Bobsledding
Championships, also features NASCAR drivers and is a fundraiser for Bodine’s
Bo-Dyn Bob Sled Project and the U.S. Bobsled Team as they prepare for the 2010
XXI Olympic Winter games in Vancouver, B.C.

“It’s a great feeling and the whole thing is that I want to make it from A
to B without wrecking and ending up on my head,” said a laughing Lucas after his
first runs Frida.  “So far we’re seven for seven.  It’s just a blast and you
can’t keep the smile off my face when you reach the bottom.  It would be a great
second job outside of drag racing.  I have never had to turn before in a race
car and you feel a great sense of accomplishment and pray that your skis are
down.  It’s fun and I’ve been enjoying myself.  It’s been neat hanging out with
J.R. and meeting all the NASCAR guys.

JIM MEISER PASSES

Jim Meiser, an icon in the race fuel
industry and a close friend to many, succumbed to cancer on Thursday afternoon.
Meiser had been a part of the Torco Race Fuels family since
1996.

“He was like a big brother to me,”
said Evan Knoll, President of Torco Race Fuels, Inc. “We were able to talk about
anything and everything whether it was business or personal business. This is a
huge loss to our team. I have lost someone that was instrumental in the growth
and success of this company.”

CALLING JIM CULP!

To whom this may concern,

My name is Jon Walters, and I am in search of 8mm home videos of drag
racing in the 50's, 60's, and 70's.  This is for a friend of mine that would
SINCERELY appreciate them.  He is a HUGE nostalgia drag racing fan, and asked me
if I would search for some.

In my search, I came across a Feedback Friday article from 22DEC06 written
by Jim Culp where he offers a PS containing "I still have four little
reels of 8mm movies I shot at Lions, Fontana, Half Moon Bay and Riverside in the
early 60s.  Haven't looked at them in many years, don't know if there is
anything worth while, but I'd like them to go to someone who might appreciate
them.  Let me know.
"

Well...I would like to let him know there is someone out there that would
cherish those like his children.

I would appreciate it if you could please contact Mr. Culp or provide
me with his contact information (with his permission, of course) at:

Jon Walters

Contact CompetitionPlus,.com with your information Jim and we will pass it on to Jon.
