Heads Up drag
racing will again be a huge part of the Snowbird Outlaw Nationals in 2006 with Top
Alcohol Dragsters, Outlaw Pro Mod, Open Outlaw, Outlaw 10.5 and Limited
Street. 

Then to bring the
event excitement up a notch, the Jet Jam Night of Fire along with Jet Funny
Cars and Jet Dragsters will bring you to the edge of your seat with 300mph
runs! Bracket and Comp classes round out a full weekend of drag racing.

Doug Foley will be
released from West
Haldimand General
Hospital in
Ontario this afternoon. Following
a crash at Toronto
Motorsports
Park on Monday, Foley was rushed to
West Haldimand General for observation. He was then temporarily transported to
Hamilton
General
Hospital for further screening, and
then back to Haldimand. The doctor has already issued his release papers, and
Foley will fly to his home in New
Jersey this evening.

Family and
friends with Foley said the hospital and nurses have been very accommodating,
and Doug is in much better spirits today. To add further comfort, sponsor Evan Knoll will be flying Doug and his family home.

Veteran Funny Car driver Whit Bazemore will drive the Matco Tools Iron Eagle Top Fuel dragster for David Powers Motorsports in 2007. This will mark Bazemore's first foray into the Top Fuel class after 18 years in a Funny Car. He will be teammates with David Powers Motorsports racer "Hot Rod" Fuller; both drivers will be running under the tuning expertise of decorated crew chief Lee Beard.

"Whit Bazemore is an outstanding driver, and he's been a real asset to Matco Tools over the years," Powers said. "We selected him from a long list of very qualified applicants, and we certainly weighed in the opinions and desires of everyone at Matco Tools. The fact he's worked with Lee Beard in the past allowed us insight into how he conducts his professional life, and we quickly reached the conclusion that he was our man."

Evan Knoll has all the respect in the world for multi-time Pro Stock
world champion Bob Glidden, but when it comes to rumors suggesting he's
sponsoring the veteran on a race team he says, "No sir, it isn't
happening."

"You never know what the future may bring, but that
has never been discussed," Knoll said. "If it is happening, no one ever
sent me the memo on that one. Since I sign the checks, I think I might
have heard about it beforehand."

Funeral services for Johnny Loper, a former Funny Car
owner for drivers including national event winner Tripp Shumake, a former gasser
pilot, and current speed shop operator, will be held later this week in Arizona.
Loper, who had been in the speed shop business for 40 years and still maintained
two stores, died Sept. 23. He was 70.

The Loper-owned "Lil’ Hoss" series
of Funny Cars were some the nation’s best from the late ‘70s to the early ‘80s.
The Arizona-based car was one the first into the fives with Eddie Pauling
driving. This success continued when Shumake took over the wheel of the Plymouth
Arrow.

Sidney Frank Importing Co. Inc., the importer of Jägermeister Liqueur,
has announced that it will continue its primary sponsorship of Max
Naylor’s NHRA Pro Stock team. Jägermeister’s groundbreaking sponsorship
of the team, which began in 2006, marked the first time a distilled
spirit became a major sponsor of any NHRA team.

Said team owner Naylor, “This is a dream come true. Jägermeister has
been a wonderful sponsor, and the fans have certainly noticed. 
Jägermeister has raised the NHRA party level up a notch and set the
standard as a team sponsor. As they have added more to the NHRA
experience, they have gained loyal customers throughout the country.”

The All Harley Drag Racing Association (AHDRA) President Craig Tharpe today
announced the hiring of Karen Raffa of Corrales, NM, to administer the
organization's contingency awards program. In addition, Raffa will handle
advertising sales for Speed Magazine, the organization's official
publication, which is published ten times each year.

"We are extremely pleased to have added Karen to our growing staff," said
Tharpe from his offices in Pfafftown, NC. "She brings a wealth of experience to
this position, and is extremely well thought of throughout the entire
high-performance aftermarket industry. The addition of Karen to our staff is

Harley Drag Racing Association continues expanding those efforts, we're
