FUNNY CAR CHAOS TO BRING NINE-RACE SCHEDULE INTO 2024

Funny Car Chaos, the unique Funny Car-only format created by Chris Graves, has announced its 2024 schedule of events. The grassroots Funny Car series, which features diverse combinations ranging from supercharged engines on nitromethane to turbocharged on methanol, has emerged as a top drag racing entertainment venue. The bottom line is if the body lifts up and the car passes safety protocols, there’s a place for it to race. This season, Spell Paving Funny Car Chaos will present nine events, eight of which are championship points-earning events.

The season opens in April with the fourth annual Funny Car Classic at the Texas Motorplex, located outside of Dallas. This event, which has attracted as many as 64 entries in the past, will be partnered with sister series DMP Awnings Nitro Chaos on April 4-6, 2024, to bring more than enough nitro entertainment, including a 32-car feature field.

HADDOCK WINS A SHOWDOWN OF BLUE-COLLAR FUEL RACERS AT TEXAS INVITATIONAL

Haddock's path to triumph began on Saturday when he outpaced fellow Funny Car contender Jeff Diehl in the opening round, setting the stage for his monumental face-off with King for the Texas Invitational championship belt. Securing his spot in the final, King left a trail of tire smoke behind as he outperformed Buddy Hull during Saturday's heart-pounding race.

MEET ARIANNA BROWN, THE NEWEST FRANK HAWLEY DRAG RACING SCHOOL GRADUATE

If there’s one lesson Arianna Brown, the 21-year-old daughter of past Top Fuel champion Antron Brown, learned by watching her famous father’s career, it’s the importance of forging her own path. Recently, she started heading in that direction by completing the Super Comp course at Frank Hawley’s Drag Racing School.

The second-generation drag racer got her start while racing in the NHRA’s Junior Dragster program. Despite taking a break during her late teens to focus on school and pursue a competitive dance career, her passion for drag racing never waned.

Brown joins her brother, Anson, as the second of Brown’s children to complete Hawley’s Super Comp curriculum.

TOMMY FRANKLIN'S COMMITMENT TO PAYING IT FORWARD HAS MADE DRAG RACING BETTER

Tommy Frankin knew if he was going to have a place to race for the long-term in eighth-mile Pro Modified style racing, he knew he would have to give back to the sport that had richly blessed him. And ten years later, the richly blessed Franklin keeps getting richly blessed.

Ten years ago, the major league eighth-mile drag racing scene was in a conundrum. The well-established American Drag Racing League [ADRL] was crashing in a ball of flames, and the silence of uncertainty was deafening.

Franklin, fellow doorslammer racers Jason and Mitchell Scruggs, Gene Hector, and Roger Henson formed the Professional Drag Racers Association [PDRA].
