First introduced to the IHRA Knoll Gas Nitro Jam tour in 2000, this
annual visit to the Luke Huron region represents one of two visits to
the beautiful province of Ontario. The Mopar Canadian Nationals
provided the foundation for an IHRA Canadian tour that has now
increased to three.

The second half of the season kicks off with the first of three
consecutive weekends of racing and one of its greatest challenges.
Teams travel high and deep into the Rocky Mountains to more than 5,800
feet, where the altitude affects everything from engine tune-ups to
aerodynamics.

The series will make its second appearance at Summit Motorsports Park,
which two years ago underwent a $4 million improvement project. Last
season’s debut event was a standing-room-only affair packed with high
levels of excitement. The event closes the first half of the season.  

One of NHRA’s original seven national events, this race is steeped in
legend: a historic facility, some of the sport’s most knowledgeable
(and definitely most boisterous) fans, and a score of dramatic moments.
The event, once known as the Summernationals, has shifted on the
schedule from its original scorchingly hot and humid July slot to May
and June, and upsets have become the norm.
