DAN OLSON'S LOBBY
Tue, 2007-07-10 10:58
Dan Olson's rumored proposal for a nitromethane increase from 85% to 90 %
is something that has good intentions but won't happen overnight. Our sources
tell us this is something that is being lobbied more by the team owners than the
crew chiefs. The main objective is to reduce engine costs.
The largest obstacle is the Professional Racer Organization, who must vote
on it and then present to Graham Light if the change is approved. According to a
source close to the program, the majority of crew chiefs polled are in favor of
leaving things as they are. If, and this is a contingent if, the change is
agreed upon by a large majority -- it will not take effect until next year.
Another source tells us the issue will be discussed with PRO members in Denver
and later in Indy.
