Just months after finishing second in the NHRA AMS Pro Modified points, Joey Martin has been replaced by his team owner, literally. Multiple sources have indicated that Tim Tindle will occupy he seat formerly occupied by Martin for the 2007 season. There are also rumors floating around about who will or won't tune the car but nothing can be substantiated at this time.

Martin is said to be headed over to the 10.5-inch tire ranks where he will reportedly serve as crewchief on the Marcus Birt-driven 10.5-inch tire car.

According to a source, Mike Rowe of The Discovery Channel's "Dirty Jobs" will shoot an episode of the popular show as a "diver" on a nitro Funny Car. This will take place at an IHRA event and reportedly the hosting team is said to be Bob Gilbertson.

After many conversations and a burned out rumor mill, it appears that AT&T might be back in the mix for companies rumored to be signing up for the 2007 season. As you might recall, Don Prudhomme was in the running for one of the deals late last season.

A source close to the situation reports that Dave Grubnic's sponsor for 2007 will be a familiar face. Apparently, StriVectin will be replaced with Zantrax3.

Multiple sources close to the situation have confirmed that Kenny Koretsky will field a second car at the NHRA Gatornationals in March. While this may not be ground-breaking gossip, the fact this driver will be following the unlikely graduation to the professional ranks from the Top Alcohol Division is where the "big" announcement could come from.

There were rumblings around the PRI Show that Virginia-based driver Scott Weis will be soon announcing a new driving gig with a part-time team on the NHRA tour. This team will also be running on the IHRA tour and while they won't be at all 12-events, there's a good chance they will be at non-conflicting events with another veteran driver behind the wheel. This driver will do a full tour of duty on the NHRA side with another team. Let the speculation begin.

If the latest unsubstantiated rumor that we're hearing pans out, it could mean that Don "The Snake" Prudhomme could announce a second Funny Car in the weeks to come. Reportedly, this sponsor is requesting a "new" face to drive the car and not a member of the past or present Funny Car fraternity. Torco's CompetitionPlus.com is in the process of attempting to contact Snake Racing to confirm or deny this rumor.

The highly popular show PINKS on SpeedTV is said to be in the preparation stages for a show that will feature two Top Fuel dragsters battling it out for pink slips. Reportedly, Top Fuel drivers Doug Foley and Bobby Lagana will duke it out in a best of five races for ownership of the losing dragster. Show host Rich Christenson is said to be determined to stand in the middle of the track to start the cars. This one will most definetely be worth watching.

A Source close to the situation tells us that longtime Pro Modified nitrous advocate Rickie Smith will be dabbling with electronic fuel injection during the upcoming season. Smith recently traveled to Bahrain with Pat Musi and drove one of his efi-equipped cars. The word is that Smith and Musi will work together during the 2007 season.
