“I think it’s a dragster wing,” said Wooton, while looking at the wing installed by his chassis builder Joe Monden. “I think it’s one off of Joe’s dragsters. We ordered a smaller wing but it just didn’t come in time. We just went with what we had at the time.”

Well did it offer an advantage?

“It's probably too early to tell, I think so,” Wooton said. “The car felt a lot better going down the track, more stable. I think that is probably better. We'll know a little more with more runs.”

Wooton finished qualifying as 25th quickest with a 4.11 elapsed time.
