GOFORTH'S CHANCES DEFLATE WITH TIRE

Unfortunately, it didn't matter.

“Halfway down the track our left front tire went flat,” Goforth said. “I want to think we ran over something on the track because it wasn’t flat when we left the staging lanes.”

Goforth had no idea that he was primed for disaster. When he reached a bump in the right lane, the car moved to the center of the track, where he took out the finish line cones.

“We just had a little bit of cosmetic damage,” Goforth said. “It’s nothing that two or three thousand dollars won’t fix.”
