DRM DEBUTS NEW FORMAT IN 2007

IHRA magazine will ring in New Year with new format and new attitude

DRM readers, get ready to receive a surprise when Issue 1 for 2007 arrives in your mailbox. DRM is currently undergoing a radical face-lift that will enable IHRA to better serve its readers and advertisers with a stronger, more colorful DRM. The new look will be more streamlined, more colorful and the size of a regular magazine.

“We sit down every year to tear apart the magazine, trying to figure out what changes we can make to better serve our readers,” DRM editorial director Mike Perry said. “One of the complaints we have always heard about the magazine is the lack of color pictures. We decided to reduce the size of the magazine to regular size and take the money we will save on printing, materials and shipping and plow it back into providing more color throughout the magazine. This is a drastic change, but we are very excited about the new direction of DRM. I know our readers will love it.”

All the features DRM readers are used to will remain in the new format. The columnists will remain the same along with the popular special features and top-of-the-line race coverage.

“When (DRM managing editor) Pam (Marchyshyn) came to me with this idea her team came up with I was very excited about the possibilities,” IHRA President Aaron Polburn said. “We have a newly designed IHRA.com and the magazine redesign is just another step in the commitment we have made to improve our general communication with our members. I have seen the sample issue and, to be honest, I was blown away. This is a very exciting thing.”

Marchyshyn is looking forward to the finished product.

“We have really worked hard on the new DRM,” she said. “Any managing editor of a magazine wants more color to work with, and this new format will give us the opportunity to better utilize more color pages than ever before. I know our readers and sponsors are going to love the change.”
