BRAY'S NEW SPONSOR

TEAM BRAY GETS NEW ARMOR FOR DRAG RACING BATTLE

Australia’s most successful drag racing organization, Team Bray, has signed a new naming rights sponsorship deal with ARMOR ALL, the country’s most popular automotive detailing products company, for the 2007/2008 season.

Ben Bray’s 2005/2006 championship-winning Top Alcohol Funny Car will change from its silver ‘shark’ livery and debut in the trademark ARMOR ALL black, orange and yellow colors at the opening round of the new season, the East Coast Nationals, at Sydney’s Western Sydney International Dragway on August 31-September 1.

Team owner and six-time Top Doorslammer champion, Victor Bray, said ARMOR ALL funding will allow the team to do more testing and R & D and set Ben on the road to a second Top Alcohol title, and added that his association with the product goes back 40 years.

“I’ve been using ARMOR ALL ever since I had wheels under me, firstly with the paddock bashers I had as a kid then my first car, which was a Sandman panel van, and we’ve always used it on the race cars,” Victor said.

“ARMOR ALL is an iconic Australian brand and it’s basically become part of the automotive lexicon. People don’t say ‘did you polish that?’ they say, ‘did you ARMOR ALL it?’ We’re pleased to be able to bring such a top-line, established brand into drag racing at the highest level and we’re looking forward to having ‘Arnie’ the ARMOR ALL Viking and the ARMOR ALL girls at the track with us.”

ARMOR ALL Marketing Manager, Paul Blair, said “ARMOR ALL is excited to now be involved in drag racing with Team Bray, the most successful drag racing team in Australia.”

“Already established in the market place as a complete car care brand caring for a vehicle’s interior and exterior, it’s great to now be associated with the excitement of drag racing.”

“We look forward to a long association with Team Bray.”

Ben Bray (who has also won two Top Doorslammer titles in his short but illustrious career) won the Top Alcohol title at his first attempt in his 3,500 hp Pontiac Firebird Funny Car and said ARMOR ALL sponsorship will give him a better shot at another title.

“Over the last couple of years the Funny Car hasn’t had a dedicated sponsor and that’s made things pretty hard, but with ARMOR ALL supporting us we’ll be able to give the car a big upgrade and buy some parts that we’ve always needed,” Ben said.

“I believe the car can run a lot stronger and be more competitive because in the second half of last season we had to back off our performance a little because we couldn’t afford to hurt parts, and that probably cost me two or three races. But with ARMOR ALL helping us out we won’t have to worry about that. And the car is going to look tough.”
