PLUCHINO FAMILY TO EXPAND TO TWO-CARS THIS WEEKEND

Patience is a virtue, and for mountain motor Pro Stock driver John Pluchino, the wait is over this weekend when the PDRA tour rolls into Darlington Dragway for the Spring Nationals.

For 27 years, Pluchino, who has raced with his son Johnny in a supporting role, will now get the chance to see his kid as a teammate.

“Having the opportunity for my son and I to share the winner’s circle - that’s always been a dream of ours,” Pluchino said. “Admittedly, we haven’t put a complete race together so far this year, but I feel like we have a couple really good race cars at the moment, and this might just be our time. What better place for something magical like that to happen than at a legendary facility like Darlington Dragway?”

The second-generation Pluchino will race a naturally-aspirated Ford Escort in the Outlaw 632 division, a car which his father once competed and won with while racing in Pro Stock. He's ready for the challenge.

"I've been waiting for this since I was 2 years old, reaching for the Lenco levers in dad’s Don Ness Camaro," Johnny admitted.  "This deal takes the whole team, not just dad and I, and we literally couldn’t do it without the help of our guys. Not to mention, Dominic Addeo, for giving us the opportunity to run Outlaw 632 with the PDRA.

"We’re very appreciative of everyone that has a hand in this deal, and we’re hoping we can put both these cars in the winner’s circle at Darlington for each and every one of them.”
